'TNF' Week 13 best bets: We're stoked for the Pokes

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott (4) and running back Tony Pollard (20). Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

How to attack this Thursday night game between Seattle and Dallas is of course the question of the hour. It certainly seems like the Cowboys could once again cruise here at home, there are some vulnerabilities on both ends of the Seahawks defense.

It's there we'll turn our focus as we look to build out a winning Same Game Parlay for "TNF."

Let's cash this TNF SGP, ASAP

Legs 1 and 2: Tony Pollard TD & 60+ yards

We'll lump together these two looks on Dallas running back Tony Pollard because they certainly go hand-in-hand. Seattle's biggest weakness might be slowing down the run.

Coming into this matchup, the Seahawks are allowing the 13th-most yards per carry, and the 12th-most rushing yards per game. Seattle is also handing out the third-most touchdowns per game to running backs.

Christian McCaffrey went for 114 yards last week, and Royce Freeman piled up a respectable 73 yards the week prior.

Pollard has started steadily producing over the past two weeks, finishing with 61 and 79 yards, scoring in both games. He should have his chances to keep that rolling here.

Leg 3: Brandin Cooks 40+ yards

Seattle sure isn't very tough against wide receivers either. The Seahawks are allowing the 11th-most passing yards per game and the ninth-most 20+ yard passes per game.

It's been Brandin Cooks coming on strong for this Dallas passing attack of late. He's caught a 22+ yard pass in three straight, fueling yardage totals of 173, 42 and 72.

That explosive element figures to come in handy here, and is a logical addition to give us a better price on this SGP.

Combined, these three legs come in at +331 on FanDuel. Enjoy the start of Week 13, let's start our NFL week right.

In the news ...

Bailey Zappe set to start for Patriots in Week 13 — It doesn't come as much of a surprise considering New England keeps benching Mac Jones mid-game, but it seems they'll save themselves the trouble in Week 13 and just bench him before the game even starts. Bailey Zappe is expected to be New England's starting quarterback this week and likely for the rest of the season. New England is currently 2-9 and its best results for the rest of the year are objectively to keep losing and try and secure one of the top two draft picks. Perhaps worth noting ahead of the 2024 draft is that 2022 Heisman winner Caleb Williams and the presumptive top pick in this upcoming draft is "on the fence" about entering the NFL next year. North Carolina QB Drake Maye is currently +400 to go first overall next season, just saying.

Oregon-Washington game tomorrow likely to determine Heisman winner — The Heisman race at this point seems to be a two-horse race between two QBs: Oregon's Bo Nix (-130) and LSU's Jayden Daniels (+160). Washington's Michael Penix Jr. (+1600) also is likely to be a finalist, and Friday night's Pac-12 Championship seems likely to be the nail in the coffin for this year's Heisman race. If you believe in Oregon, who is a 9.5-point favorite against Washington (!), take it tomorrow. Now is your last chance to grab Nix at nearly even money. If you think Washington takes it and Oregon lays an egg, it seems Jayden Daniels and his 50 TDs will be the likely beneficiary. This should be fun.

Luis Severino signs with New York Mets — The New York Mets have signed RHP Luis Severino to a one-year, $13M contract after the pitcher spent the last eight years with the cross-town rival Yankees. Severino, 29, had a rough 2023 and will look for a bounce-back year on a Mets rotation that really needs the help. The Mets are +1100 to make the World Series next year, the fifth-best odds in the NL.

Quick Picks

1 Seattle Seahawks @ Dallas Cowboys

It's really difficult to feel confident in Seattle here. Dallas has just looked too good at a time when the Seahawks keep dropping games. Rather than back the Cowboys at the 8.5-point spread, what if we just keep betting prime-time unders? That trend is now 29-9 on the year and seems our best course of action. Take under 46 points.
Thursday, 8:15 PM Eastern SPREAD MONEY LINE OVER / UNDER
Seahawks
+9.5 (-110) +360 > 46 (-110)
Cowboys
-8.5 (-115) -420 < 46 (-110)
2 Jason Myers over 6.5 Kicking Points

Seattle's Myers has racked up 34 kicking points over his last three games and is over this line in eight of 11 games this year. He’s had some big games this year. If Seattle moves the ball and stalls in the red zone, that would certainly benefit Myers here. We'll grab him at plus-money.

Latest Odds:  +100
3 Detroit Pistons @ New York Knicks

The Pistons have now lost 15 straight games, and we're not seeing that change here against New York. The Knicks have beaten Detroit 12 straight times, and they're well set up to control pace of play here. Grab the Knicks -13.5.
Thursday, 7:30 PM Eastern SPREAD MONEY LINE OVER / UNDER
Pistons
+14.5 (-110) +750 > 218 (-110)
Knicks
-13.5 (-118) -950 < 218 (-110)
4 Giannis Antetokounmpo over 30.5 points

Giannis is over this line in 10 of his last 15 games, including three straight 31+ point outings. He's had some nice games against the Bulls, over in three of his last four meetings. We'll grab him to keep piling up the buckets tonight.

Latest Odds:  -110
5 San Jose Sharks @ Boston Bruins

You'll be hard-pressed to find a bigger disparity on the ice than between San Jose and Boston tonight. On paper, this has all the makings of a 5-1 type of game for the Bruins. Boston has won 12 straight against San Jose, with eight of them by multiple goals. Run and grab Bruins -1.5 here.
Thursday, 7:00 PM Eastern SPREAD MONEY LINE OVER / UNDER
Sharks
+2.5 (-118) +410 > 5.5 (-115)
Bruins
-1.5 (-185) -480 < 5.5 (-120)
6 Brent Burns over 2.5 SOG

Carolina's Brent Burns is over 2.5 shots in four straight games and now faces an Islanders team allowing the second-most shots per game to defensemen. Burns has 5+ shots in four straight against the Islanders and is over 2.5 in eight of his last nine meetings.

Latest Odds:  -150
