Let's keep the parlay party going

Our very own Griffin Carroll cashed his +254 steals parlay for the people on Tuesday, and we'll be looking to follow up that performance with a parlay winner of our own. Let's get crazy with a three-leg, cross-sport parlay for Wednesday night's slate.

Leg 1: South Carolina Gamecocks +11.5

The disrespect for South Carolina in the betting market is getting out of hand. The Gamecocks are 21-3 straight up and 18-6 against the spread, yet oddsmakers continue to make them double-digit underdogs against ranked teams. Auburn has been a force at home this season, but South Carolina isn't afraid to enter hostile territory and compete.

Leg 2: Miami Heat @ Philadelphia 76ers over 225

The 76ers are a slow, defensive-minded team with Joel Embiid in the lineup, but that's completely flipped since the reigning MVP went down with a knee injury. Over the last seven games, the Sixers have given up 123.7 points per game. That would be the second-worst mark in the NBA over the entire season.

Philly has also picked up the pace since adding Buddy Hield, which has led to three straight games with at least 119 points. This is a much different team than it was just two weeks ago, and the betting market hasn't fully adjusted yet.

Leg 3: Florida Panthers moneyline

For our third and final leg, let's roll with the Panthers to take down the Pittsburgh Penguins. Florida has been one of the best road teams in the NHL all season, as it's gone 17-7-2 away from home. The Vancouver Canucks are the only team in the league with more road wins.

The Panthers have won eight straight road games, while the Penguins have lost five of their last seven overall.

Put it all together, and we get a +530 cross-sport parlay on FanDuel!

In the news ...

Tiger Woods to make his 2024 debut at The Genesis Invitational — The PGA Tour heads to Riviera Country Club this week for The Genesis Invitational, and Tiger Woods will make his season debut in addition to hosting the tournament. Woods will also be donning his new brand, "Sun Day Red," for the first time. Tiger is 150/1 to win the tournament, but a safer bet would be to make the cut at -110.

Warriors tried to trade for LeBron James at the deadline — The 2024 NBA trade deadline wasn't as busy as it's been in recent years, but that doesn't mean there weren't conversations behind the scenes. According to ESPN, the Golden State Warriors attempted to trade for LeBron James in the 24 hours leading up to the deadline. Neither James nor the Los Angeles Lakers were interested in a deal, so trade talks didn't end up getting far. The LeBron-less Warriors are +120 underdogs to make the playoffs.

No. 7 North Carolina falls to unranked Syracuse — North Carolina was cruising along at 17-3 overall and 9-0 in the ACC just a few weeks ago, but Hubert Davis's squad has now lost three of its last five games to unranked opponents. The Tar Heels lost, 86-79, to middling Syracuse on Tuesday night to keep the struggle bus moving. Once massive favorites to win the ACC, North Carolina is now just -280 to win the conference.

Quick Picks

1 Michigan State Spartans @ Penn State Nittany Lions

Penn State was one of the worst teams in the Big Ten for much of the year, but it's starting to turn things around. The Nittany Lions have covered the spread in four straight games and won three of them outright as underdogs. They'll be able to keep it close against a Michigan State team that struggles on the road.

Michigan State
-3 (-110) -160 > 143.5 (-110)
Penn State
+3.5 (-110) +140 < 143.5 (-114)
2 Tulsa Golden Hurricane @ South Florida Bulls

South Florida is a surprising 17-5 this season, but the metrics say this team isn't as good as its record suggests. The Bulls rank 153rd in the country in effective field-goal percentage, and six of their last eight wins have come by six points or fewer. USF is getting too much credit for its ability to win close games, so we'll take the +8.5 with Tulsa.
Wednesday, 7:00 PM Eastern SPREAD MONEY LINE OVER / UNDER
Tulsa
+8.5 (-110) +330 > 148 (-115)
South Florida
-8 (-112) -375 < 148 (-110)
3 Los Angeles Clippers @ Golden State Warriors

The Clippers will be without Kawhi Leonard on Wednesday night, so we're looking to fade them against the Warriors. Los Angeles is 2-2 this season when Leonard sits out, but those wins came against the Memphis Grizzlies and the Charlotte Hornets, two of the worst teams in the NBA. The two losses came to the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Boston Celtics by a combined 56 points. Give us the Warriors -2.5.
Wednesday, 10:00 PM Eastern SPREAD MONEY LINE OVER / UNDER
Clippers
+3.5 (-110) +130 > 234 (-113)
Warriors
-2.5 (-115) -149 < 234 (-110)
4 Buddy Hield over 3.5 threes

Hield has wasted no time proving what he can bring to the Philadelphia 76ers. In three games with his new team, the sharpshooter has attempted 29 three-pointers and made 13 of them (44.8 percent). We like Hield to go over his threes prop against a Miami Heat team that surrenders the ninth-most threes per game.

Latest Odds:  +100
5 Justin Thomas top-10 finish

No one outside of Scottie Scheffler is playing as consistently well as Justin Thomas is right now. JT has five top-10 finishes in his last six starts, and he's gained strokes off the tee, on approach and around the greens in four straight. He should be in for another strong performance at The Genesis Invitational.
