Hockey headlines the start of our new week together, and there are a handful of sportsbook promos we should likely be tapping into. As such, a Monday SGP seems only right as we gear up for Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final.
Sights set on Stanley Cup Final SGP
Evan Bouchard over 2.5 SOG
We most definitely need to add some Bouchard shots to the slip tonight. The Edmonton defenseman uncorked an absurd 16 shot attempts in Game 1, finishing with four SOG.
Did we mention that he shot the puck 16 times? That's just outrageous volume that has to be invested in, especially with the Oilers down a game and likely to be aggressive.
Sam Bennett point
Well, we highlighted Bennett point on Friday and he delivered, and now the price is even better, so, yeah, let's just go back to the man. Bennett now has seven points in his last seven games and eight points in his past five meetings with Edmonton.
Aaron Ekblad over 1.5 blocked shots
As we already mentioned, expect plenty of Oilers shots here as they look to get one past Sergei Bobrovsky and steal a game on the road. Florida defenseman Aaron Ekblad will be one of the names to know tasked with keeping those shots away from the Panthers net-minder.
Ekblad blocked three shots in Game 1 and now has 14 blocks in his past three games, numbers we can happily back at this lowly 1.5 line.
Altogether, these three legs can be parlayed on DraftKings at +495. Enjoy the action on the ice. Let's start this week right.
In the news ...
Celtics take commanding 2-0 series lead in NBA Finals — Boston once again displayed just how deep and talented this roster is, outlasting a Luka Doncic triple-double to take Game 2 105-98. It was Jrue Holiday leading the way with 26 points, and the Celtics are showing us they can win in a variety of ways. The series heads to Dallas for Game 3 on Wednesday, and the Mavericks are surprisingly two-point favorites. From where we're sitting, it seems hard to believe the Mavs make this much of a series, especially with the supporting cast led by Kyrie Irving failing to step up. We'll gladly back Boston as underdogs and take their +105 moneyline.
Scottie Scheffler wins Memorial as U.S. Open tees off next — The dominance of Scottie Scheffler continues on, as the world's No. 1 golfer picked up another tournament win at the Memorial, his fifth of the season. Next up is the U.S. Open, which gets going on Thursday at Pinehurst No. 2 in North Carolina. As one might imagine, Scheffler has opened as the betting favorite, sitting at +280 to win the third major of the season. Rory McIlroy (+1100), Xander Schauffele (+1200) and Viktor Hovland (+1400) are next on the board.
Carlos Alcaraz wins first French Open title — It sure seems we have our next generational talent in men's tennis, as 21-year-old Carlos Alcaraz has set the record for the youngest player ever to win a title on all three surfaces (clay, grass and hard), a mark previously set by Rafael Nadal. Alcaraz took his first French Open on Sunday in five sets over Alexander Zverev, and the next major tournament will be Wimbledon at the beginning of July. Alcaraz is the defending champ, and he's +140 to add another. On the women's end, Iga Swiatek easily cruised to her third straight French Open win, and she is +330 to win Wimbledon, which she has yet to do.
