Is the Stanley Cup heading to the beach?
It sure seems that way as the Florida Panthers took a 2-0 series lead against the Edmonton Oilers with a 4-1 win Monday night. The Panthers suffocating defense allowed only 19 shots on goal and stymied Connor McDavid and crew. Goalie Sergei Bobrovsky was his brilliant self and center Evan Rodrigues scored a pair of third period goals, as the Panthers tallied three in the period for the win. With that, the celebration was on.
Bobrovsky has been a dominant force this postseason and after a Game 1 shutout, allowed only one goal to the vaunted Oilers attack. The Russian netminder known as "Playoff Bob" sits as a commanding -160 favorite to win the Conn Smythe Trophy. The NHL began awarding the prestigous trophy to the most valuable player of the postseason beginning in the 1965 season. How many of the past winners can you name in six minutes?
Good luck!
