Celebrate NBA Finals Game 5 with this +236 same-game parlay

We have ourselves a few more finals games this week, as both sides avoided sweeps this weekend. Our first Game 5 is tonight, as Boston will look to close out Dallas at home and win its first title since 2008. We're sticking with a few player looks for our rooting interest in this one.

Pocketing a few player props to power a fun Game 5

First leg: Kyrie Irving under 23.5 points

The Boston crowd has impacted Kyrie Irving, it just is what it is. In Games 1 and 2, Irving shot just 13-37 from the field, finishing with 12 and 16 points.

Irving is over this line in just three of 11 road playoff games this year, often not even coming close to this total. We have to fade him here.

Second leg: Jrue Holiday over 4.5 rebounds

This is the first of two lines we're moving down a number, as we prefer the Celtics guard down at 5+ boards based on everything we've seen. Holiday piled up 19 boards in the first two home games of this series, and he's averaged 10.5 rebound chances per game this series. He's been around the ball and his role isn't going away; we like Holiday on the glass tonight.

Third leg: Jayson Tatum over 4.5 assists

Tatum still feels due for a takeover game, and one element of his game that he's flexed is his ability to create for others. Tatum has averaged 6.3 assists per game in these finals, and he's racked up 40 potential assists across those four games.

Tatum has racked up 5+ dimes in 14 of 18 this postseason and six of his last seven in Boston. This is the number we feel best about for the Celtics star.

Altogether, this trio comes in at +236 on FanDuel to help us enjoy Game 5.

In the news ...

Bryson DeChambeau wins U.S. Open thanks to bunker shot on 18 — Bryson DeChambeau has been in the mix for the past few majors, and he was able to break through with his second U.S. Open win on Sunday, taking the win at Pinehurst No. 2 over Rory McIlroy by one stroke. The win was two-fold down the stretch: DeChambeau had a huge bunker shot on 18 to set up the tournament-winning putt, while McIlroy choked away a chance at the win with multiple short putt misses. The final golf major of the year will take place in a month at The Open Championship in Scotland. Scottie Scheffler is the +500 favorite, followed by McIlroy at +700 and DeChambeau at +1200.

Oilers, Mavericks both avoid sweeps over the weekend — We won't have any sweeps in our two finals, as both Dallas and Edmonton avoided such fates with blowout wins on Friday and Saturday. Can we see Game 6s in either sport? The Mavericks are +205 to win tonight in Boston, while the Oilers are +114 tomorrow night in Florida.

Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto heads to IL — The Dodgers will be without one of their top arms for the next few weeks, as rookie Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been put on the IL with triceps soreness. Yamamoto has been one of the best pitchers for Los Angeles in his first season since joining from Japan, currently owning a 2.92 ERA and 1.07 WHIP. While Yamamoto's season has been strong, he's +2000 to win NL Rookie of the Year, as fellow Japanese pitcher Shota Imanaga is the +100 favorite thanks to his 1.89 ERA, followed by Paul Skenes, who has been on a strikeout tear, at +150.

Quick Picks

1 Dallas Mavericks @ Boston Celtics

Consider us excited at the chance to see a championship won in front of the home fans. That always makes the moment a bit stronger. The Mavs shot the lights out in Game 4, and we trust Boston to get things right and close this thing out. We're on the Celtics -6.5 tonight.

Celtics

2 Paul Skenes over 7.5 Ks

Skenes is in set-and-forget territory at the moment with his strikeouts prop, especially when he's facing a Cincinnati team that strikes out at the third-highest rate against RHP. The Pirates rookie has racked up 8+ Ks in four of his last five and has quickly shown himself to be one of the best strikeout pitchers in MLB. Grab this over with confidence and enjoy the ride.

Latest Odds:  -150
3 Jordan Hicks over 4.5 Ks

San Francisco's Hicks should have some room to build on his solid K outings of late, as he's facing a Cubs team that fans at the seventh-highest rate against righties this year. Hicks has 5+ Ks in three of his last four games, twice fanning 7+. We like the runway here for more.

Latest Odds:  -130
4 Dallas Wings @ Minnesota Lynx

Minnesota is solidifying themselves as one of the best in the WNBA, currently owning the third-best net-rating in the league at +12.2. That should lend itself to a home win tonight against a Wings team that has really struggled on the year: their -5.6 net-rating is fourth-worst. Give us the Lynx -10.
