Congratulations to the Boston Celtics on winning their 18th NBA championship, and congrats to us on knocking our Game 5 SGP out of the park. We were far too conservative on some of those prop reads, but a winning +236 play to start the week is always going to work.
We turn now to another Game 5 on the ice. Will the Florida Panthers similarly rebound and clinch the championship, or could Edmonton push this series another game? Whichever direction it may go, it's the players we'd like to get a wager on tonight.
Favoring four legs for Florida-Edmonton
First leg: Evan Rodrigues over 1.5 SOG
Evan Rodrigues was the star of the show to begin the Stanley Cup Final, scoring three goals in the first two games in Florida. It's his shots prop however that catches the eye today. He's over this line in three straight games on some solid volume, and he's averaged 2.6 SOG per game across his last five at home.
Second leg: Aaron Ekblad over 1.5 blocked shots
This has been one of the steadiest props available in the NHL market, as Ekblad has 2+ blocks in all four games and six straight overall, averaging 3.83 per game. You can be sure that Edmonton is going to do what they can to get pucks on net and extend this series, and that's where Ekblad comes in, to help make life easier on Sergei Bobrovsky.
Third leg: Leon Draisaitl over 2.5 SOG
The Oilers should find some shots reach the goal, and Leon Draisaitl is a tremendous option to get behind. Draisaitl is over in three of four this series, logging 5+ attempts each time. He is over this line in 80% of games over the last three years when he has at least five shot attempts in a game. As one of Edmonton's stars, the onus will be greater than ever on Draisaitl to create some offense here.
Fourth leg: Mattias Ekholm over 1.5 SOG
We always love backing some defenseman shot props when we have trailing team desperate to keep a series alive. Ekholm has hit this line in all four games, and we'll gladly trust that he keeps on ripping pucks to help spark the offense a bit.
Altogether, you can find these four legs on DraftKings at +525. Cheers to another winning SGP to start our week!

In the news ...
Boston Celtics win 2024 NBA Finals in five games, 18th championship overall — Boston came out hot at home in Game 5 and never looked back, easily dispatching the Dallas Mavericks to win the 2024 NBA Finals in five games. Jayson Tatum had the big game, scoring 31 points to go along with 11 assists and eight rebounds, and it was Jaylen Brown taking home Finals MVP honors. Boston is understandably the clear betting favorite to take home next year's championship, currently +300. Denver is next at +750.
Tee Higgins signs franchise tag with Cincinnati Bengals — After some uncertainty as to whether or not Tee Higgins would hold out, the young star Bengals WR has opted to sign his franchise tag and move forward with this season in Cincinnati. It's no secret that Higgins wants a long-term deal, and the 25-year old may be playing his last season as a Bengal. Another young WR remains in the news cycle, as Brandon Aiyuk made comments on Monday that San Francisco doesn't want him back. It remains incredibly likely that the 49ers move Aiyuk before this season, and there should no shortage of teams looking to secure his services. A few potential front-runners include the Panthers, Chargers and Jets.
Gerrit Cole to make season-debut Wednesday — The AL-best Yankees are getting some reinforcements, as it has been announced that Gerrit Cole will make his season debut on Wednesday against the Orioles. Cole won the AL Cy Young last season and remains one of the league's best arms, and no doubt New York's ace. His return should solidify the Yanks as a legitimate contender to go all the way this season. New York is currently +215 to win the pennant and +450 to win the World Series.
