Two best words in sports: Game 7. Do we really need any more of an intro than that?

We 'under'stand what we need to do today

As boring as it may sound to you, the under on the game total has to be the move for us in Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers.

Four straight overs have now hit, but things should tighten up tonight. Game 7s are historically lower-scoring, as both sides block more shots and opt for the highest-quality shots they can find.

Seventeen Stanley Cup Finals have reached a Game 7. Sixteen of them went under this total. The price isn't quite what you'd like to see, so we'll tack on a leg that will be an immediate sweat to the start of the game.

No goal in the first five minutes on FanDuel helps bring this total to even money, as it plays into the same read we have on the game: a slow start as teams are meticulous to get things started.

It's not a crazy play, but it's the one for us tonight.

Betting: Under 5.5 goals & no goal in first five minutes (-101 FanDuel)

In the news ...

Scottie Scheffler wins again — The World No. 1 just keeps on rolling, as Scottie Scheffler took another tournament win on Sunday at the Travelers, his sixth of the season. It took a playoff over Tom Kim to do it, but it's been more of the same for Scheffler. We're watching true golf dominance right now. The Rocket Mortgage Classic is next, and Scheffler is sitting this one out. That opens things up for the rest of the field, with Kim the current favorite at +1200, followed by Cameron Young at 14-1.

USMNT gets things started with first Copa America win — The U.S. men's national team picked up a win in their first match of group play in Copa America, taking down Bolivia, 2-0. Christian Pulisic got things started in the third minute on a ridiculous goal, and the U.S. rolled from there. Next up is a Thursday match against Panama, and USA are -265 favorites to take it in regular time.

Decisive third game in College World Series — If today wasn't big enough, we'll also have a College World Series champion this evening. Texas A&M and Tennessee face off in the decisive third game at 7 p.m. ET from Omaha, and Tennessee are heavy -230 favorites. We like the under 10 (-110) in this one, as both Zander Sechrist and Justin Lamkin have been strong on the rubber of late.

Quick Picks

1 Edmonton Oilers @ Florida Panthers

Is Florida really about to blow this 3-0 series lead? Edmonton has scored first in three straight and dominated things from then on out, and the Panthers' inability to score on the power play has been one key factor in their undoing. All the momentum in the world is on the Oilers, and all the pressure remains on Florida. We have to roll with the value on Edmonton here with their moneyline at -105.
Monday, 8:00 PM Eastern SPREAD MONEY LINE OVER / UNDER
Oilers
+1.5 (-285) -105 > 5 (-139)
Panthers
+1.5 (-300) -110 < 5 (-150)
2 Philip Broberg over 1.5 blocked shots

Expect plenty of blocks tonight, and Edmonton's defenseman Philip Broberg offers us a tremendous price on him continuing to pile them up. He has seven blocks in his last two games. Cheers to 2+ again tonight.

Latest Odds:  -105
3 Toronto-Boston under 0.5 runs in first inning

Toronto scores a first inning run at the second-lowest rate in the league, a trend we will gladly get behind tonight against Boston. Tanner Houck for the Red Sox has a NRFI record of 46-10 over the last few years, and he hasn't allowed a run in nine of his last 10 starts. Toronto's Chris Bassitt has a 110-31 NRFI record since 2019 and has also hit this prop in nine of his last 10. Grab this under.

Latest Odds:  -120
4 Atlanta-St. Louis under 0.5 runs in first inning

There's also some nice value in the NRFI here in St. Louis. The Cardinals Lance Lynn has been a part of a NRFI at a 74% rate over the past five years, and Atlanta's Spencer Schwellenbach is a perfect 4-0 on the NRFI to begin his career.

Latest Odds:  -110
