We've made it to the summer months of sports betting, expect to see plenty of MLB, golf and even Olympics betting coverage moving forward. We have plenty of time for all of that, let's get apprised on the NBA Draft, which begins tomorrow night. There are plenty of bets to make in this market.
NBA Draft is tomorrow, so get some betting looks in now on how the board breaks down
Donovan Clingan to go 4th overall (+600 DraftKings)
UConn's 7-foot-3 Clingan seems to be tomorrow's X-factor at the top of the draft. His odds have been climbing to go as high as first overall, but some believe that is a smoke screen to garner a trade up. San Antonio is currently picking fourth, and the possibility of pairing Clingan with Victor Wembanyama would be quite the front court to figure out for opponents.
The Spurs have been public in their Clingan interest, which some are viewing as another sign that if you want Clingan, you better trade up to No. 4 to take him. We'll sprinkle a bet on him going in this slot at this price.
Zach Edey under 15.5 draft position (-130 DraftKings)
Reports have suggested that Purdue's big Zach Edey has been dominating at team-run workout sessions leading up to the draft. Edey has shown teams he can shoot the three, and he's also displayed power and explosiveness that have shown teams just how difficult he is to defend in the paint.
Edey's stock seems to have risen, as he was invited to the green room for draft night while he waits to hear his name called in Round One. While he opted to stay home with friends and family, we like that buzz leading to an Edey selection in the upper half of tomorrow's draft.
Lakers to draft Bronny James (-130 DraftKings)
We've tried to avoid the Bronny James media circus as much as possible, but we may as well get a bet on what is about to be jammed down our face for the next two days. Bronny James has not worked out for many teams, and it just seems inevitable that the Lakers take LeBron's son (likely in the second round). He was +100 last night, so the price is moving.

In the news ...
Florida Panthers win first Stanley Cup — After dropping three straight games following a 3-0 start, the Florida Panthers bounced back and won Game 7 at home 2-1, hoisting their first ever Stanley Cup. Sam Reinhart had the game-winning goal in the second period after a huge defensive play was made on the other end, and Sergei Bobrovsky made some big saves down the stretch to hold on for the win. Edmonton's Connor McDavid won the Conn Smythe Award as the postseason MVP, becoming just the sixth player in NHL history to win the award as part of the losing team. Florida are the +900 favorites to win it all next year, and Edmonton is right behind them at +950.
Tennessee Volunteers win first College World Series — In Omaha, the Tennessee Volunteers won their first ever College World Series, and became just the second No. 1 seed in CWS history to win a national title. The Vols took it 6-5 in the decisive third game over Texas A&M, and the team has six players ranked in the top 100 prospect rankings for this year's MLB Draft, led by Christian Moore and Billy Amick.
Cavaliers hire Kenny Atkinson as next head coach — We missed this news yesterday with our head focused on the championship games, but the Cleveland Cavaliers made their decision on their next head coach, hiring Kenny Atkinson. Atkinson was most recently an assistant with Golden State, helping the team win a title in 2022, and was formerly the coach of the Nets. Atkinson's second chance at the helm will begin with the team hopefully locking up All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell to a contract extension.
