After J.J. McCarthy impressed in his preseason debut with the Minnesota Vikings, head coach Kevin O’Connell had to hope the quarterback chaos that derailed their 2023 season was behind him. Unfortunately for O’Connell and McCarthy, it isn’t, with the 10th overall pick from the 2024 draft to miss the season after surgery to repair the meniscus in his right knee. O'Connell said he thought McCarthy played "really well," in what ends up being his only appearance of the season, throwing for 188 yards on 11 completions with two touchdowns against the Raiders. Now the Vikings will turn to Sam Darnold as their starting QB in Week 1.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. McCarthy won't get the chance to set any rookie records, but will get to spend a year learning even if he isn't on the field. With that being said, can you name the rookie QB with the most passing yards for each NFL franchise?
Good luck!
