It's a beautiful section of the sports calendar with football season in full swing and MLB playoffs approaching, but let's take a quick break from the mayhem to hit the links. Team USA and Team International will face off this week in the 2024 Presidents Cup, an event the Americans have dominated over the years with a 12-1-1 record. There isn't any value in the outright market because Team USA is so likely to win, so let's dive deeper down the board and target some fun props for the Presidents Cup.
How to bet the Presidents Cup
Day 2 winner: USA (-145 DraftKings)
Day 2 of the Presidents Cup will feature five foursomes matches, otherwise known as alternate shot. Well, Team USA has crushed in this format over the years. According to Justin Ray of The Athletic, the Americans have outscored the Internationals, 56.5-23.5, in the foursomes format since 2007. Team USA went 6-3 in alternate shot two years ago, and many of those duos will be back in action this year.
Scottie Scheffler-Sam Burns, Patrick Cantlay-Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa-Wyndham Clark and Max Homa-Tony Finau are a few potential pairings for foursomes. Team International might not be able to put a single duo together that would be favored over any of those four. The Americans should roll in foursomes once again.
Top USA Captain's Pick: Tony Finau (+550 DK)
Jim Furyk pegged Homa, Burns, Brian Harman, Keegan Bradley, Russell Henley and Finau as his six captain's picks for this year's Presidents Cup, and we're not sure why Finau is such an underdog in this market. The veteran is 3-2-3 in two career appearances at the Presidents Cup, including a 3-1-1 mark in 2022. His only loss came when he was paired up with Kevin Kisner, who's already transitioning from the golf course to the booth.
Burns is favored in this market because he'll likely be paired with his best friend, Scheffler, but that duo hasn't had much success in international competition. One poor showing and Burns could hit the bench for most of the competition. Homa isn't in good form, and Harman and Henley likely won't play major roles in their first career Presidents Cup appearances. Furyk will trust Finau's experience and hopefully roll him out for four or five sessions this week.

The Chargers will likely be without starting tackles Joe Alt (MCL sprain) and Rashawn Slater (strained pectoral). Plus, Justin Herbert (high-ankle sprain) and Joey Bosa (hip injury) might not be able to suit up in Week 4, and Derwin James has already been ruled out due to a suspension.
