The NFL season starts right back up with an intriguing Thursday Night Football matchup between the Atlanta Falcons and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With a crucial NFC South battle on deck, let's try to build some bankroll for the weekend with a same game parlay for TNF.
TNF SGP
Leg 1: Buccaneers alternate spread +7.5
We're not confident enough in either side to make a bet on the spread, but one thing we are confident in is the Falcons being unable to win by margin. Atlanta beat the Philadelphia Eagles on a last-minute touchdown thanks to a Saquon Barkley drop, and it squeaked out a win against the New Orleans Saints on a last-second field goal.
This team hasn't shown the ability to blow anyone out, so we'll bet that this will come down to a one-score game on either side.
Leg 2: Kyle Pitts 40+ receiving yards
Pitts is coming off a shutout performance against the Saints in which he didn't record a single catch, but that's giving us a discounted line on his receiving yards prop here. In four career games against the Buccaneers, Pitts has averaged 56.3 yards per game and gone over 40 yards in each one. Tampa Bay's defense is beatable down the middle of the field, so Atlanta should utilize Pitts much more than it has so far this season.
Bucky Irving 50+ rushing yards
Irving is slowly taking over as the No. 1 option in this backfield, as he's been a much more efficient rusher than Rachaad White this season. The strength of the Falcons defense is its secondary, but the front seven has gotten gashed for a few explosive runs already. Irving should be busy in this matchup.

In the news ...
Tigers, Padres, Royals advance to divisional round — Boy, that was quick. It took only two games for the Detroit Tigers to knock off the Houston Astros, the San Diego Padres to take down the Atlanta Braves and the Kansas City Royals to eliminate the Baltimore Orioles in the wild-card round. The New York Mets and Milwaukee Brewers will play a win-or-go-home Game 3 to determine the final WC series. The Brewers are -130 to advance.
Jets are No. 1 on Davante Adams' trade wishlist — In the least shocking news of the NFL season, Adams reportedly wants to be traded to the New York Jets. That might have something to do with his former teammate, Aaron Rodgers, calling the shots in New York. The New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills and Dallas Cowboys are also potential landing spots for the disgruntled wide receiver. The Jets are +265 to win the AFC East, but that price could change if a trade is finalized soon.
Pats' David Andrews, Dolphins' Jaelan Phillips out for season — A pair of AFC East teams have lost key contributors for the year. This week, New England Patriots center David Andrews (shoulder) and Miami Dolphins defensive end Jaelan Phillips (knee) were ruled out for the season. The struggling teams will face off this week, with the Patriots holding as -1 favorites.
