Alexander Ovechkin may have recently turned 39 years old, but his quest for Wayne Gretzky’s all-time goal record is definitely on. Ovi scored his 860th career goal on Sunday in the 4-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes to move within 34 of The Great One. Despite the loss, Ovechkin has scored in four consecutive games for the 8-3-0 Capitals, and has seven assists to go with his seven goals on the young season. 

“He’s one of the best goal-scorers in the league,” said former teammate turned opponent Dmitry Orlov after the game. “He's a legend. It stinks that he scored today, but he’s chasing the record. I’m happy for him.”

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Entering the 2024-25 season, Ovechkin trailed Gretzky by 41 goals, an number he’s surpassed 13 times in his 20 year career, with the last time coming in 2022-23. With that being said, can you name each NHL franchise’s all-time leading goal scorer?
