Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs fell to the New York Knicks in the first matchup of an entertaining slate of Christmas Day games, but the 2023 No. 1 overall pick put on a show in his holiday debut. Wembanyama set a San Antonio Christmas Day record with 42 points and added 18 rebounds, joining NBA legend Wilt Chamberlain as the only player to put up at least 40 and 15 on the day. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough, as the Knicks trio of Mikal Bridges, Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson combined for 83 points, with Bridges pouring in 15 in the final frame. 

Wembanyama said he and the Spurs “just proved we’re not ready yet,” after the loss. 

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Despite the loss, the Spurs are in the midst of an incredible turnaround, boasting 15 wins through 30 games – 10 more than they had at this point last year.
