The 2025 NFL season begins on Thursday night, and it will feature two quarterbacks on teams trending in opposite directions. The defending champion Philadelphia Eagles and Jalen Hurts will open the year with a clash against Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys, who went 7-10 last season and are just a week removed from trading away their best player in Micah Parsons. 

While the Eagles are favorites to repeat as NFC East champions and have the third-shortest odds to lift the Lombardi Trophy once again according to ESPN Bet, the Cowboys are underdogs to even make the postseason. If Dallas is going to have any hope of returning to the playoffs, it will need Prescott to return to his near-MVP form of 2023 when he was third in the NFL with 4,516 passing yards and led the NFL with 36 TDs.
