For true college football fans, this is the week worth waiting for: the final week of the regular season — for most teams — otherwise known as Rivalry Week.

From the Egg Bowl, which got us started Thanksgiving night, to Notre Dame and USC at the Coliseum, it really doesn’t get any better. That's especially true this season since some of the most storied rivalries have huge implications. Whether it be for a conference/division title or a spot within the coveted College Football Playoff — or another New Year’s Six bowl, at the very least — the stakes are exceptionally high.

There’s a lot that goes into the making of a true rivalry: history, tradition, competitiveness, atmosphere. This weekend’s slate of rivalry games has it all

On Friday, UCF, riding a 23-game winning streak and looking to somehow crash the CFP party, takes on South Florida. Last season, the Knights earned a wild 49-42 win over the Bulls. Led by Kyler Murray, Oklahoma takes on West Virginia in a matchup that should keep the scoreboard operator pretty busy and determine, at least partially, who will be in the Big 12 title game. Then there is the Apple Cup; Gardner Minshew II and Washington State can grab the Pac-12 North Division crown if they’re able to snap a five-game losing streak to rival Washington.

A day later, things really heat up.

At the same time Florida tries to end rival Florida State’s 36-year bowl streak, Georgia Tech and its motorized option attack look for a third consecutive victory “between the hedges” at Georgia, which is still trying to keep its CFP hopes alive. Meanwhile, in Columbus, Michigan is one win away from maintaining its spot in the CFP, but standing in the way is bitter rival Ohio State, which has won six in a row and 13 of 14 against “that team up north.”

But don’t forget about the Iron Bowl. Are there two fan bases more rabid when facing each other than Auburn's and Alabama's? South Carolina would also love to ruin Clemson’s national championship expectations at Death Valley, while the Fighting Irish’s own spot in the CFP is on the line against the Trojans, who could be without a head coach come Sunday morning.

Which brings us to today's quiz of the day. A college football rivalry is not really a rivalry unless the winning team receives some sort of bizarre statue or object at the end of the game. So with that in mind, how many of the trophies associated with each of these college football rivalries can you name in five minutes?

Good luck!
