This year SGA flipped the script, capturing 71 first place votes – 42 more than Jokic, who was the only other player to receive a first place vote. While there are some players in the league and fans on social media who don’t love the way Gilgeous-Alexander plays the game, his results are hard to argue with. He led the NBA with 32.7 points-per-game to go with a career-high 6.4 assists to help the Thunder cruise to the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference and best record in the NBA.
