The NFL season officially kicks off next week, but here are the ten biggest questions of the 2025 NFL season.
There are quite a few NFL coaches on the hot seat, whether for good reasons or not. Coaches such as Mike McDaniel down in Miami, Zac Taylor in Cincinnati, and Shane Steichen in Indianapolis could all be fired this season or after if swift results don’t follow each of these coaches this season.
Every season, the NFL has a team that goes from worst in its division to first. The Washington Commanders did it in 2024. Who will be the team to go from worst to first in 2025? The New England Patriots are a sneaky team that could do it. The Tennessee Titans could also have a good shot to go from worst to first in the AFC South as well.
The Tennessee Titans won the top bid for the 2025 top pick and took quarterback Cam Ward out of Miami. Who will be in the race for the top pick in 2026? Will there be a surprise team? The Titans could very well find themselves in the mix for the top pick in 2026. However, other teams like the Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, and maybe even the New York Giants are all expected to be at the bottom of the league from a win total standpoint and could be in the mix for the 2026 first-round pick.
The Lions have been Super Bowl contenders for the last two seasons, which means their coaching staff has been getting their fair share of head coaching interviews. For the last three seasons, Ben Johnson had been the biggest prize for head coaching candidates before ultimately taking the Chicago Bears job this offseason. Defensive coordinator Aaaron Glenn had also been receiving interest for head coach positions, and he was hired by the New York Jets this offseason. Now that Detroit’s top coordinators are gone, what do they look like for the 2025 season? Can they remain contenders?
The whole regime for the New York Giants, from the general manager to the head coach, is on the hot seat coming into the 2025 season. Head coach Brian Daboll knew they had to solidify the quarterback position after cutting Daniel Jones last season and going through a bunch of backups. They signed veterans Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston in the offseason but personally handpicked Dart to draft in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft, which they drafted up for.
After winning Super Bowl LIX in blowout fashion back in February, the Eagles return ten out of the 11 starters on offense from that team. Philadelphia is tied for the best odds to win Super Bowl LX, which means the betting market believes the Eagles have just as good a chance to repeat as champions as anybody.
The 2025 second overall pick, a hybrid cornerback and wide receiver, is one of the most interesting players in the NFL this season. Hunter will attempt to play cornerback and wide receiver for the Jacksonville Jaguars this season, but the question is which side he will play more on? Offense or defense? The 2024 Heisman Trophy winner is a unicorn and could be a welcomed anaomly to the NFL.
The 2024 quarterback draft could go down as one of the best of all time. Jayden Daniels burst onto the scene, winning Offensive Rookie of the Year; however, quarterbacks like Bo Nix, Drake Maye, and Caleb Williams all showed flashes at times. When you add in Michael Penix and J.J. McCarthy, fans will pay attention to how each of the sophomore quarterbacks will be doing in 2025.
After flaming out in New York with the Jets, Rodgers and the Steelers decided to give it a go for the 2025 season. Mike Tomlin, who has never had a losing season as a head coach in 17 seasons, and that streak could potentially end with Rodgers behind center this season.
The Steelers have Super Bowl aspirations after making moves like signing Rodgers, trading for Jalen Ramsey, and other roster moves. Will the soon to be 41 year old quarterback have anything left in the tank to offer the Steelers? Rodgers has already hinted at how this season could be his last in the NFL.
The 2023 and 2024 NFL MVPs have done all they can from an individual aspect during the regular season, but haven’t quite gotten over the hump in the postseason. Last season, Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens lost to Allen and the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional round, and then after the Bills lost to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game.
Kansas City has been the king of the AFC conference with the exception of one year. It’s time for Jackson or Allen to finally get past the Chiefs or one another to get to the Super Bowl this year.
