The 2024 NFL Draft will start with the No. 2 overall pick as the No. 1 overall pick is all but sealed, with Caleb Williams in the -20000 range to be selected first. Over the last few weeks, the odds for the second overall pick have fluctuated.
Will it be Jayden Daniels, who has been favored for most of the draft process? Or will the Washington Commanders decide to go with the upside of Drake Maye? Could there be a surprise in store? Let's take a look at the odds.

Jayden Daniels -155
Jayden Daniels has been favored to go No. 2 overall for much of the offseason. He has all of the tools that scouts look for when evaluating a quarterback with arm strength, accuracy and mobility. The reigning Heisman Trophy winner's upside is obvious, but scouts will question his throwing motion and his durability.
Daniels threw for 3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns and four interceptions during his senior season with the LSU Tigers. His completion percentage was 72.2%, and his QBR was 95.6, the best mark in the country.
The Commanders recently hired Kliff Kingsbury as their offensive coordinator, and Daniels should excel in Kingsbury's spread-based system.
Drake Maye +125
Drake Maye may be the biggest question mark of the top quarterbacks in the draft. Maye's ceiling is as high as anyone's because he showed off his elite arm talent and ability to throw downfield in his time at North Carolina. He is also extremely athletic and displayed an ability to make plays with his legs and throw on the run.
Throughout the college football season, he was looked at as the second-best quarterback draft prospect, but after the season unfolded, he started to slide down the board.
Maye threw for 3,608 yards, 24 touchdowns and nine interceptions during his redshirt sophomore season with the Tar Heels. That was a significant dropoff from his freshman season where he threw for 4,321 yards, 38 touchdowns and seven interceptions.
J.J. McCarthy +1200
J.J. McCarthy has been one of the biggest risers throughout the draft process. Once looked at as a possible second-round pick, it appears McCarthy will likely go in the top five.
McCarthy won a lot of football games during his time at Michigan but wasn't asked to do much throwing the football, so his numbers will not blow anybody away. That has led to some question marks during the draft process.
Most scouts will point to his ability to make throws when he had to as a positive, and he understands how to manage the game.
