Key injuries at the tight end position and a few questionable matchups among the usual suspects stand out in Week 4. That said, the pool of strong plays is not extremely deep, and gamers may need to plug their nose while setting lineups this week.

Week 4 Fantasy Football Start 'em: Tight Ends

Jake Ferguson, Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers

Low-hanging fruit? Perhaps. Just as everyone drew it up, Ferguson is the No. 1 PPR tight end three weeks into the season, and now Dallas will lean on him yet again with the expected loss of WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle). George Pickens and Jalen Tolbert will get more work, but Dak Prescott's confidence in Ferguson couldn't be higher. Green Bay has allowed the third-most catches and yards, permitting a TD along the way. This trend dates back to last season, when the Packers granted 33.3% more fantasy points than the league average. If nothing else, consider this affirmation that Ferguson is a stellar play once again.

Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Goedert has been productive in his two 2025 appearances, producing 7-44-0 in Week 1 and landing only one of two targets for a TD vs. the Los Angeles Rams. In between was an inactive status for Week 2. His paths to getting into double-digit PPR territory varied greatly, yet he should remain useful against Tampa. This defense has done a fine job of keeping the position in check, although Goedert was able to reel in seven of eight looks for 62 yards. Consider something in that realm a success.

Week 4 Fantasy Football Sit 'em: Tight Ends

Juwan Johnson, New Orleans Saints at Buffalo Bills

Only Dallas' Jake Ferguson has been better so far, and Johnson has nearly doubled his personal best per-game fantasy average. Now, he certainly could collect plenty of targets from Spencer Rattler this week if the Saints cannot contain the Bills, but the yardage gains should be limited. On the season, TEs have caught only five passes for 32 yards and a TD against Buffalo, which translates to the worst matchup of the week.

Kyle Pitts, Atlanta Falcons vs. Washington Commanders

In typical fashion for him, Pitts teased fantasy gamers with a seven-grab Week 1 performance and now has eight receptions combined in the two games since. Worse yet, 39 yards is the high-water mark over those most recent contests, and Pitts remains scoreless in 2025. The 2024 meeting saw him post a respectable 4-44-1 line in Week 17 with Michael Penix Jr. starting. Three weeks into 2025, Washington has given up a modest 14 catches (tied 17th) to TEs but the fifth-most yards and a score. Play Pitts if you have no better options, but he's a sketchy start in any format.
