Head coach DeMeco Ryans has done tremendous things for the Houston Texans the last two seasons. They have their franchise quarterback, a winning culture, and greater expectations than we’ve seen since their franchise began. For the first time ever, the Texans are viewed as a team who will be constantly in contention.
Despite that great aura, there are still several positions that need to be upgraded. The 2025 NFL Draft provides another opportunity to do so, and continues trending upward. This latest 7-round mock draft helps to potentially put this team over the top.
The Texans need help up front, and adding a little bit of an attitude would be a huge bonus. Booker plays with a nasty demeanor from his guard position, and is always looking for work. He should, at work, be a plus starter on the inside long term. If Booker develops, he could end up being a tone setter for an offense that needs to get more physical.

There are some big bodies on the interior defensive line, but not a lot of players who can consistently create penetration. Norman-Lott has a dynamite first step and can be a lot for opposing offensive lineman to handle in 1-on-1 situations.

Putting strong support around quarterback CJ Stroud continues to be a major priority. Helm presents a big body in the middle of the field, and also possesses some underrated YAC upside.
Texas TE Gunnar Helm (#85) broke out in 2024, hauling in 60 receptions for 786 yards and 7 touchdowns. He’s a very smooth athlete despite carrying a bigger frame (6051v, 250v). Also showed some positive signs in the run game.

Some are going to overlook Bowman due to the lack of size, but he’s a tremendous football player. Bowman has experience all over the back end, and should be able to play slot as well. He’s a valuable member of a secondary.
Oklahoma S Billy Bowman (#2) is one of the more diverse safeties in the 2025 NFL Draft class. Comfortable playing from depth, but his COD skills give him flexibility to come down and play in man coverage as well. pic.twitter.com/IpEB4qijk0

Giddens lasting to this point in the draft is a crime. He is arguably the best running back in the class in terms of making second level defenders miss, possessing tremendous vision. Mic him in with Joe Mixon for the short term, and you have a winning formula.
I’m officially starting the DJ Giddens RB2 campaign. Kid is fantastic. Feet and pace as a runner are fantastic… no better RB in the 2025 class at manipulating second and third level defenders. pic.twitter.com/vlNaFs5JDd

Muhammad lacks ideal size for the NFL level, but he’s a tenacious competitor who plays above his weight class. Even if he has some limitations outside, he should have a solid chance to provide quality reps inside at nickel. At this point in the draft, Muhammad is a tremendous investment.
