The 2025 NFL Draft is right around the corner, and we've got you covered with in-depth scouting reports on all of the top prospects at every position in this year's class.

Here's everything you need to know about Oregon tight end Terrance Ferguson heading into the 2025 draft:

Vitals

Height: 6-5

Weight: 255

Age: 22

Strengths

A smooth route-runner with an impressive blend of size and speed, Ferguson is a handful for opposing defenses thanks to his ability to challenge them both vertically and horizontally. He’s sharp coming in and out of his breaks, creating separation with subtle moves at the top of his routes. He has enough initial burst to create big plays down the field up the seams, and his big frame gives him the ability to beat smaller defenders at every level of the field when the ball comes his way, even if the defender is in good position to make a play. He’s willing and able as a blocker, with solid technique that allows his offense to line him up close to the line of scrimmage or out away from the trenches.

Weaknesses

Ferguson doesn’t have elite straight-line speed to be a huge factor after the catch, and while he’s able to create consistent separation with his route-running technique, he doesn’t have the short-area quickness to shake defenders in the open field with lateral movement. For a player his size, you might expect more broken tackles after the catch, but his contact balance is inconsistent. He contributes in the run game as a blocker, but bigger, stronger edge defenders will give him trouble when he tries to seal the edge for the ball-carrier.

Final Analysis

He may not win the 40-yard dash competition, but Ferguson is explosive enough in short bursts to create problems for defenses as a pass-catcher at all levels of the field. His ability to line up in-line and contribute as a blocker is a plus, even if he’s not the most dominant presence there. He may not have one specific trait that jumps out, but Ferguson is a fairly well-rounded player with a decent floor who can make an impact on all three downs.

Current Projection: 2nd Round
