Ahead of the full 2025 NFL schedule release, the Steelers already knew they were headed to Ireland to face the Minnesota Vikings in Week 4. Now, Pittsburgh has found out which team they’ll be facing in their home-opener contest, and when it will be.

According to Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports, the Steelers will welcome the Seattle Seahawks to Pittsburgh in Week 2, and that will be their first home contest of the season. It’ll represent the first game at home for star acquisition D.K. Metcalf, and his first chance to make his former team feel his wrath.

That’s a heck of a matchup, and one that should provide ample hype for the NFL world. Now, the only question is who will be playing quarterback for the Steelers. Whether it’s Aaron Rodgers, Mason Rudolph or Will Howard, Mike Tomlin will have the boys roaring and ready to rock.

Pittsburgh is coming off a good 2024 season, going 10-7 and making the playoffs. Now, the Steelers are looking to take another step forward and potentially make a deep run in the 2025 postseason. Of course, before any of that can happen, they’ll need to make their mark in the regular season.

The Seahawks game Week 2 will represent a chance for that to happen. Check back HERE later on Wednesday evening to see the full schedule for the Steelers, officially revealed by the NFL on May 14.

Moreover, the 2025 season will be No. 19 for Mike Tomlin as the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He has a regular season record of 183-107-2 and a postseason record of 8-11. He also led them to a Super Bowl in 2008, just his second season coaching the Steelers. However, the pressure is on to build a team that can win in the postseason. It’s now been eight straight seasons without a playoff win.

The Steelers ended the 2024 season on a negative note, losing their final four regular season games and their only playoff game. With this schedule reveal, they’ll know who they have to take on to get the bad taste out of their mouth from last season.

Pittsburgh knows that it’s a difficult regular season schedule playing in the AFC North. That makes up for six of their 17 games, and without success against their division, it’s going to be much harder to go where the Steelers want to be. Last season saw the Steelers go 3-3 against the AFC North Competition.
