The Dallas Cowboys shocked the world by trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers. This Cowboys mock draft shows what the 2026 haul could be with a new first-round pick.
Pick placement was decided using PFF’s mock draft simulator to take any subjectivity out of the equation by the writer.
As injuries decimated the Cowboys secondary in 2024, it’s likely the team needs some more juice on the outside entering next season. Listed at 6’0″ 193, he has good size to play both inside and outside, and enough athleticism to keep up with faster receivers in the NFC East. He’s currently recovering from an ACL tear, but he was a Jim Thorpe finalist in 2024 as a true sophomore. He was a state champion in track and field, so his explosiveness isn’t a concern. That may be good enough for the Cowboys front office, and he can contribute immediately on defense.
Micah Parsons was able to be moved all over the defense and slot in as an inside linebacker when needed. Faulk is an absolute tone setter on the edge and has the size to move to the interior of the defensive line if required. Performances against top schools matter, and as a true sophomore, two of his best games came against Georgia and Alabama. At 6’6″, 288 lbs, he’s a force to be reckoned with and can be part of an improved run defense unit moving forward.
Another homegrown linebacker, Hill can help fill in the gap if Overshown doesn’t recover from his injury as expected. The Cowboys only have three linebackers under contract in 2026, and this defense had a lot of warts covered up by how special Parsons was. Another track star, Hill has true sideline-to-sideline capabilities that make him a headache for teams trying to use speed against linebackers in coverage. A position of need, a local talent, and someone used to competing at the highest level, Hill can help this defense become a true strength of the team in 2027 and beyond.
Okay, so they didn’t draft him, but they traded for him to be a solid wide receiver two for the team. He’s a free agent heading into 2026. If the Cowboys traded Parsons to make room for other players, Pickens had better be one of them.
Another player returning from injury, Joyner is the perfect high-risk, high-reward player to take on day three. He’s more physical than Jaydon Blue and brings a different element between the tackles to keep the team on schedule. Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders can’t be the long-term solution for this running back room, and Joyner with Blue can be an explosive duo to help the offense take the next step. There are always day three gems at running back, and the Cowboys need to take a couple more swings with the state of their current backfield.
