The first half of 2026 fantasy football drafts is for building the core of your team. The early rounds are for players with proven production and opportunities to be consistent starters.

After the first 6-to-8 rounds of a draft and starting lineups are largely set, draft strategy should shift even more towards shooting for upside. Hitting on a mid-to-late round player in fantasy football drafts can win leagues. When targeting these players, look for paths to high-volume roles and elements that are causing them to fly under the radar.

Here are three players, one at each non-quarterback skill position, currently being drafted to bench slots in fantasy football drafts that have league-winning upside: 

Blake Corum, Running Back, Los Angeles Rams

• Real-Time ADP: RB32, 91.0 overall

Corum has a simple path to being a league winner as the handcuff to Kyren Williams. Los Angeles has used Williams as a three-down back for most of his career, and Blake Corum would assume a massive workload if Williams were to miss any time.

The Rams shifted their backfield philosophy as last year progressed. Before Week 8, Williams played 74% of snaps compared to Corum’s 24%. Corum’s snap share jumped to 33% after the bye, while Williams’ fell to 64%.

It is hard to imagine Los Angeles rolling that split back. If anything, Sean McVay’s offense will lean on Corum more in his third season. Williams turns 26 later this month. He has the fourth-most carries in the NFL since 2023, and the Rams may look to manage his workload now that his $33 million extension has kicked in.

There is more than enough offensive volume in Los Angeles for both running backs to be fantasy-viable. If the split can approach 50/50, Corum should be a lineup staple. 

Makai Lemon, Wide Receiver, Philadelphia Eagles

• Real-Time ADP: WR40, 103.9 overall

So far, Makai Lemon’s training camp buzz has not been inspiring. He has missed time with a hamstring injury and is receiving little social media hype compared to other rookie wide receivers. That could drop Lemon’s fantasy stock, but that only makes him a better value as a potential league-winner.

Jalen Hurts has consistently supported two wide receivers in fantasy football. AJ Brown and DeVonta Smith each finished as top-20 fantasy receivers in 2023 and 2025, and each were top-ten at the position in 2022. With Brown out the door and Smith expected to become the overwhelming WR1, Philadelphia has lots of open targets.

Lemon’s NFL Draft profile projects him as an instant impact slot receiver, and the Eagles selected him 20th overall to be their day-one starter.

Unless you are fully buying Dontayvion Wicks hype (who is a possible value pick as the current WR91 on FantasyPro’s Real-Time ADP), Lemon will be the second-most productive receiver on Philadelphia’s depth chart.

Fantasy managers may need to be patient with Lemon. His breakout could take time, and there were weeks in the past few years where Brown or Smith disappeared. However, if Lemon can beat out Wicks and Dallas Goedert as Hurts’ second option, he has a very high fantasy football ceiling as a rookie.

Greg Dulcich, Tight End, Miami Dolphins

• Real-Time ADP: TE27, 152.8 overall

Miami’s pass-catching situation is a total dice roll. Outside of bellcow running back De’Von Achane, wide receiver Malik Washington is the only returning weapon who had any production last year.

Rookies Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell and Kevin Coleman Jr. all could generate hype, but offseason additions Jalen Tolbert and Tutu Atwell have the inside track to start. There is potential for all six receivers to rotate and have roles, limiting everyone’s fantasy football ceiling.

Turning to the tight end room, Greg Dulcich could be the biggest winner of a pass-catching rotation. 

He never lived up to his pre-draft billing as an athletic receiving tight end, but the Dolphins took a chance on his upside in the middle of last season. After showing flashes with 26 receptions and 335 yards in nine games, Dulcich is now set to start for Miami’s new-look team.

Dulcich can move around the field as an in-line tight end or slot weapon, so he should be on the field as much as any Miami pass catcher. He is drawing training camp hype as the team’s most consistent receiver, making him a potential high-volume target this season. Target Dulcich late in drafts, especially in PPR leagues.
