The opening hours of the NFL’s Free Agency tampering period have been a rollercoaster. With a new head coach in John Harbaugh, New York fans have wondered what the Giants’ free agency would look like. There are still plenty of deals to be done, but here are some wins and losses from Big Blue’s day one.
The Giants agreed to terms with former Baltimore Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely on a three-year, $40 million deal. Harbaugh was his coach in Baltimore and brought him to New York to bolster his offense.
Likely has been a reliable target for the Ravens over the last four seasons. In 63 career games, he has 135 receptions for 1,568 yards and 15 touchdowns. It’s worth noting he’s been Baltimore’s second option behind veteran tight end Mark Andrews.
Likely will see an expanded role in New York. There’s a strong chance the offense will run heavily in 12-personnel, deploying both him and tight end Theo Johnson. Bringing in some familiarity for Harbaugh to help along quarterback Jaxson Dart’s development is a great move.
It’s no secret that Harbaugh loves having star linebackers on his roster. Whether it’s Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, Patrick Queen, or Roquan Smith, the linebacker position is important to the Super Bowl-winning head coach.
Former Chicago Bears standout Tremaine Edmunds agreed to a three-year, $36 million contract with New York on Monday. He’s an eight-year NFL veteran and still only 27 years old. He played his first five seasons with the Buffalo Bills, where Giants general manager Joe Schoen was the assistant GM until 2021.
Edmunds went to the Bears in 2023 and has been a key piece of their defense. Over 119 career games, he has 14 interceptions, 900 combined tackles, and 43 tackles for loss. He’s a much-needed addition to a Giants linebacker room that recently released Bobby Okereke.
One free agent the Giants did not let walk was right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor. The former Las Vegas Raider signed with Big Blue in 2024 and has been a huge piece in the offensive line’s production. They ranked ninth in the NFL in 2025 as a unit, and he was imperative to that success.

Eluemunor has agreed to a three-year, $39 million deal with New York, keeping him opposite star left tackle Andrew Thomas for the foreseeable future. He may have been the most important player to retain this offseason. Schoen and Harbaugh getting this done is massive.
The most notable loss for the Giants in free agency is wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson. This was expected for months, but the team still hoped to bring him back. He agreed to a four-year, $70 million deal with the Tennessee Titans, joining his former head coach, Brian Daboll, who is now the Titans’ offensive coordinator.
After New York’s star receiver, Malik Nabers, went down with a torn ACL, Robinson broke out in a major way. In his fourth season, he recorded 1,014 receiving yards and four touchdowns, both career highs. It was his first year going above 1,000 yards, and he’ll be a weapon for Cam Ward in Tennessee.
The Giants’ free agency saw them lose two more players to the Titans. Tight end Daniel Bellinger agreed to a three-year, $24 million contract, while cornerback Cor’Dale Flott agreed to a three-year, $45 million contract.
Bellinger’s role in the Giants’ offense has decreased with the arrival of Theo Johnson. He recorded just 19 receptions in 2025 and 14 in 2024. He’s only found the endzone twice in the last three years, both coming in 2025. With the addition of Likely to New York, Bellinger’s departure was unsurprising.

Flott is entering his fifth season and has slowly become a real problem for offenses. After starting 13 games in his first two seasons, he started 24 in the latter half of his tenure. 2025 saw his highest production, with 11 passes defended, one forced fumble, and three tackles for loss. He’s recorded one interception in each of his final three years with the Giants.
Losing Flott is difficult for New York’s already struggling secondary, and Robinson leaves a big hole in the receiver room. The additions of Likely and Edmunds will bolster two other positions of need.
Re-signing Eluemunor is huge for keeping an ascending offensive line on the rise. New York also agreed to a three-year, $12 million contract with former Ravens punter Jordan Stout. He was named first-team All-Pro in 2025, averaging a career-high 50.1 yards on 53 punts. He’s now the highest-paid punter in the NFL.
The Giants’ free agency isn’t over yet, but their biggest moves will likely come in the Draft. Harbaugh is looking to bring competitiveness back to East Rutherford, and he’s off to a strong start.
