2026 Tennessee Titans Focused On Building Around Cam Ward

Tennessee made offense a priority in the offseason, adding several players to help Ward’s development. Wan’Dale Robinson was signed for his familiarity with Daboll and the ability to get open underneath. He will pair with top draft pick Carnell Tate to give Ward legitimate targets.

Tate has the combination of size, route running, and contested catch ability to become a formidable downfield threat. He is another building block for the Titans’ offense and will be in the running for the Offensive Rookie of the Year with the opportunities he should get.

The Titans finished last year with about 191 passing yards a game (29th in the league), with Ward only completing 59 percent of his passes. The Titans are hoping that the new duo at wideout in Daboll’s offense leads to easier throws and more production.

Other free agent signings include tight end Daniel Bellinger (another former player of Daboll) and running back Michael Carter. They add depth to the skill positions, along with wideout K.J. Osborn, to give Tennessee more competition. Mitchell Trubisky is familiar with running a Daboll offense and will serve as a backup and mentor to Ward.

All these moves were made with the idea of rebuilding the infrastructure around Ward to help him reach another level in his game.

More Talent On Defense

Saleh added talent to the defense as well, starting with Gus Bradley as defensive coordinator. The two have worked together at previous stops and will be able to combine their experience in forming a strong unit.

Former Saleh players John Franklin-Myers and Jermaine Johnson were acquired for the defensive line. Jacob Martin and Solomon Thomas were also added for their familiarity with Saleh. Kedric Faulk was drafted in the 1st round to be a dynamic pass rusher for the long term. They will all complement Pro Bowler Jeffrey Simmons to form a strong d-line that can rotate in quality options–a staple in Saleh’s defenses.

Anthony Hill Jr. was drafted in the second round to add athleticism to the linebacking core. Alontae Taylor and Cor’Dale Flott add starting experience at cornerback.

Overall, the Titans rebuilt their defense around Saleh’s philosophy. All of this should lead to a better defense that can complement Ward and the offense better.

2026 Could Be Defining Season For Ward And The Titans

Tennessee is hoping everything is in place for Ward to become their franchise quarterback. The new coaching staff and talent infusion should make the Titans a better team overall.

The up-and-down rookie season Ward experienced is not indicative of the player the organization sees him becoming. The Titans are investing in his potential, knowing that reaching his ceiling will lift them to new heights as well.
