2 NFL Teams With Their Playoffs Lives On The Line Sunday
Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

As we head into the 14th Sunday of the NFL season, the hour is getting late for a number of teams that are on the edge when it comes to competing for a playoff spot.

These two teams could very well be facing a virtual must-win situation on Sunday.

1. Los Angeles Chargers

The Los Angeles Chargers have undoubtedly been one of the most disappointing teams in the league this year.

After several big defensive additions during the offseason, including Pro Bowlers Khalil Mack and J.C. Jackson, many figured Los Angeles would be a Super Bowl contender, especially considering it has an elite quarterback in Justin Herbert and potent weapons such as Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler.

Instead, the team has struggled with many injuries and is currently 6-6, which is one game behind the New York Jets for the final Wild Card spot in the AFC.

The Chargers will host the Miami Dolphins, a team that has looked deadly at times but is coming off a 33-17 humbling at the hands of a banged-up San Francisco 49ers team.

A win versus Miami would be huge, as the rest of L.A.’s schedule looks somewhat manageable.

2. New England Patriots

After being considered by some to be dark horse contenders at the start of the year, the New England Patriots find themselves at 6-6, having lost back-to-back games to the Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills.

They will visit the Arizona Cardinals, a team they should be able to beat on paper.

However, New England has lost some games to struggling teams, including the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.
