The Cowboys had gone 8-0 at home this 2023 season, stretching their current NFL-long home winning streak to 16 consecutive games and averaging a skosh more than 37 points a game during those eight home wins.

But the way the Dallas Cowboys suffered yet another playoff letdown was the most surprising.

The Green Packers, now 10-8 and winners of their past four games, leading 48-16 with 10:23 left to play, the Cowboys were on the verge of matching their widest margin of playoff defeat in this their 67th playoff game, and their all-time worse home playoff defeat?. Now the Cowboys are (5-13) in their 13 playoff appearances since winning Super Bowl XXX that 1995 season. And still searching to get past the second round, now six times losing in the wild-card round.

This is why Cowboys owner Jerry Jones called this loss “most painful.” Dallas head coach Mike McCarthy called the loss, “Very disappointing,” then adding, “I don’t think anyone saw this coming.” Certainly right about that.

There’s an ongoing debate if fans would rather support a team that wins a ton but never accomplishes the main prize, or would it be better to be a fan of a team that almost never reaches the playoffs and has no Super Bowls in its history.

One longtime 30-year long Cowboys fan can’t take the letdown anymore, and penned a letter that’s going viral detailing why he’s officially done supporting Dallas — while listing a bevy of thorough reasons along the way — and will now become a fan of the Los Angeles Chargers.

“I’ve faithfully supported this team…Between terrible coaching hires, a lack of aggressiveness in free agency, and willingly disrespecting its current players,” the longtime fan said in his official goodbye to the Dallas Cowboys.

He isn’t the only fan that is stunned and angry by the unexpected playoff loss.

During the game, a fight broke out between a group of fellow Cowboys fans when they realized there was no comeback. It was happening again.

It’s curious as to why this Cowboys fan chose the Los Angeles Chargers, who have consistently fell short of expectations despite having a talented roster.

The franchise has never won a Super Bowl and their only appearance in the big game came in 1994, where they fell to the San Francisco 49ers.

Perhaps this fan believes the team will retain former Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator, who served the same role there last season after being fired.

Or maybe he believes the rumors about Jim Harbaugh and believes he will take over the roster and bring the Chargers to the promised land. One thing is for sure, he’s done with Dallas.
