After the Cincinnati Bengals’ 31-27 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, the biggest story was that Joe Burrow will be out for three months. While this is terrible for Cincinnati, it does have implications for fantasy football.

There were also a couple of other players who showed they will be fantasy assets this season. With that in mind, and many fantasy managers now needing a quarterback or running back, here’s a look at three Bengals vs Jaguars Week Two fantasy takeaways.

Bengals’ Browning Is Startable

As heartbreaking as it is for Bengals fans seeing Burrow get injured again , fantasy managers can take some solace in adding Jake Browning off the waiver. Last time Burrow went down, Browning was a top-ten fantasy QB in the time he was playing and almost led Cincinnati to the postseason.

Despite Browning’s three interceptions last week, he was still able to put up almost 20 fantasy points (on average) in a game that he didn’t even play the entire time. While he can’t be expected to score as much on a week-to-week basis as Burrow, he will still be a solid replacement, or even QB2 for leagues that have them.

Especially considering he has Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Mitchell Tinsley as targets. Chase can easily turn a screen pass into a 70-plus-yard gain, Higgins catches anything that touches his gloves, and Tinsley continuously impresses with his spectacular ability to make catches in traffic.

Chase Brown is also still a threat, despite not crossing the 50 rushing yards mark in either of his first two games, and he will also take some pressure off Browning. Again, don’t expect Browning to be a league-leading QB, but for fantasy purposes, he can absolutely be trusted to be startable every week with the capacity to post big games.

Etienne Is A Solid Fantasy RB2

Although he struggled in his 15 games last season, Travis Etienne Jr has proven through the first two games that he’s back to his typical level of production. Through Week Two, he’s accrued 214 yards, including a career-longest 71-yarder.

With the Jags having just traded Tank Bigsby to the Philadelphia Eagles, it shows that they have trust in Etienne. As should fantasy managers, with him averaging a career-best 17.8 fantasy points this year (compared to his 8.7 in 2024).

This point in the season may be the last you can trade for him, too, as he’s clearly poised for a big role in Jacksonville’s offense. Especially if the person who currently has him rostered isn’t as privy to this situation, he’s a priority target for those who need an RB who could be attained for relatively cheap.

Tuten Is A Solid Flex

As mentioned above, the Jaguars’ move to send Bigsby to the Philly shows confidence in Etienne, but it also shows faith in Bhayshul Tuten. He looked good against the Bengals, racking up 42 rushing yards and 32 receiving yards (with his first career touchdown coming on the latter).

With Tuten being reliable both on the ground and through the air, it opens up Jacksonville’s offense, as well as taking pressure off of Etienne. He may not have the biggest sample size, but Tuten looks to be a big part of this team’s game plan and should be a solid flex for those in deeper leagues.

End Of My Bengals Jaguars Fantasy Rant

While the negatives may be more abundant, namely the injuries and players who fail to produce to expectations, there were still some positives regarding fantasy. The three biggest being that Browning will be a starting-caliber QB, Etienne will be a solid RB2, and Tuten will be a solid flex in certain weeks or regularly in deeper leagues.

For teams needing a running back, Tuten should be available on most waiver wires, and Etienne should be pretty easily attainable right now. For those needing a quarterback (there are a lot this week), Browning is poised for three months of startable production.

Tune in next week for the three biggest takeaways from the Bengals-Vikings Week 3 matchup.
