3 bold predictions for the Colts Week 15 matchup vs. the Steelers
Trevor Ruszkowski-USA TODAY Sports

The Indianapolis Colts (7-6) are hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers (7-6) for one of the most important Week 15 matchups in the entire NFL.

Both have their eyes on the playoffs, and I decided to share three predictions ahead of today's matchup.

Defensive Prediction:

DeForest Buckner has at least 2 sacks

A big reason for the Colts Week 14 blowout loss was the lack of pressure created by the team's defensive line. This was a surprise as the unit had been on a tear entering Week 14. The Colts had combined for 21 sacks over their previous four games and then could not even muster a single sack against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 14. I believe this was a point of emphasis with the team as they prepared for this week, and I believe it will result in a solid day from the group. And I think star DT DeForest Buckner leads the way with at least two sacks.

Offensive Prediction:

Alec Pierce finds the endzone

We saw Alec Pierce and the Colts vertical passing game come alive against the Tennesee Titans as he ended the day with three receptions for 100 yards and a touchdown. It was his first 100-yard game of his young NFL career and his first touchdown of the season. One of the weaknesses on this Steelers defense is their CB room. They will likely use rookie Joey Porter Jr. on Michael Pittman Jr. for most of the day. I believe the Colts will use this to their advantage and attempt to find similar success that they found against a weak Titans secondary in Week 13, and it will result in Pierce finding the endzone for the 2nd time this season.

Score Prediction:

Colts 20 - Steelers 17

The Steelers have not been able to score 20 points in the last four weeks and have only done so five times this season. And while the Colts offense has been struggling as of late as well, they haven't lost a game this season where they held their opponent to under 29 points, a feat that the Steelers haven't done this season. This gives the edge to the Colts if they can force the Steelers offensive struggles to continue. Give me the Colts off a Matt Gay walk-off field goal 20-17.
