3 draft targets for Browns in Round 2 following NFL free agency moves that were made
Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

The fun of free agency is over for the most part after a couple of weeks that were filled with moves all over the place in the NFL.

Cleveland Browns were one of those teams that was active in free agency and it will certainly impact how they attack the NFL Draft next month.

With that being said, today I’m going to highlight three players that would be ideal for the Browns in the second round when they have their first selection at No. 54 overall. Cleveland could opt to trade back since they only have five selections, it’ll at least be on the table.

DT Mike Hall Jr., Ohio State

The Browns have noted interest in the local product and he certainly fits the bill. Cleveland is set to run much of the interior back on one-year deals and has just Dalvin Tomlinson and Siaki Ika on the roster beyond 2024.

Hall is one of the better interior pass rushers in this draft and I’m a big fan of his ceiling. An athletic individual who weighed in at 299 pounds at Ohio State’s Pro Day. If he is there at 54 it’s a no-brainer.

DL Brandon Dorlus, Oregon

Dorlus is a 290-pound athletic freak that has the ability to play inside and out. He can set the edge well on early downs and rush from the inside on obvious passing downs.

A high motor player that wins off initial punch and effort more so than refined pass rush moves. he doesn’t have great bend, but that isn’t exactly unexpected at his size. An intriguing prospect that I would be happy with the fit in Cleveland.

LB Junior Colson, Michigan

Cleveland needs to add more depth at linebacker in the draft. If Colson is there at 54 it would be hard to look past him. A backer that can stay on the field for every down and that means staying with tight ends in coverage too.

Colson is a physical linebacker and sound tackler who is quick and showed that with a 4.58 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. At Michigan, he was a major contributor to their defense for the last three years and is just 21 years old.

Cleveland added Jordan Hicks and Devin Bush in free agency and Hicks should be set to start at the MIKE or SAM with Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah at the WILL.
