3 Early Bold Predictions For Packers’ QB Jordan Love In 2023
Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

2023 is the dawn of a new era for the Green Bay Packers with Jordan Love taking over as the new starting quarterback. For the first time since 2008, it will be someone other than Aaron Rodgers leading Green Bay’s offense.

Rodgers was traded to the New York Jets, paving the way for Jordan Love to enter the lineup for the first time in his career. The 2020 first-round pick out of Utah State has only played spot duty for the first three years of his career but the starting job is now his.

Green Bay has committed to Jordan Love for at least 2023 and 2024, agreeing to an extension to avoid having to worry about a fifth-year option. That kind of commitment should put him at ease knowing he will have some time to acclimate himself to the role and have a chance to grow.

What can we expect to see from Jordan Love this year? Here are three early bold predictions for him in the 2023 season.

3. Finishes Top Half Of the League In Passing Yards

There is a lot of mystery surrounding Jordan Love as no one really knows what to expect from him as the starter. There was enough to like that the Packers traded up to select him in the first round in 2020 but he hasn’t had a chance to showcase that talent on the field yet outside of a few relief appearances.

If he realizes that potential and builds upon his strong appearance in 2022, there is a chance for him to find success right away. Jordan Love will throw for at least 3,200 yards, which will put him in the top half of the NFL for the 2023 season.

Daniel Jones, Davis Mills, Derek Carr and Mac Jones were right around the middle of the pack last season. Nothing is holding Jordan Love back from being able to perform around their level this upcoming season.

2. Turnovers Are Kept To A Minimum

2022 was an uncharacteristic season for Rodgers when it came to the turnover department. He threw 12 interceptions, which was the second most in a single season in his career. If there was one thing Jordan Love learned and should take away from sitting behind Rodgers it is how important ball security is.

He will take that to heart as Jordan Love will do an excellent job of not turning the ball over this season. He will throw a single-digit amount of interceptions this season, taking care of the ball and not trying to do more than what is needed.

That will lead to a lot of success for the Packers’ offense this season, which leads us right into the last bold prediction.

1. Packers Earn Wild Card Spot

There will be some bumps in the road early on as the team acclimates itself to having a new starting quarterback. But, things will settle down and Green Bay will find its footing, leading to a very successful first season for Jordan Love.

He is going to accomplish something, not even Rodgers did, which is make the playoffs in his first season as a starter. Green Bay finished one game short of the playoffs last season as a midseason swoon derailed their postseason hopes.

The Packers will win at least nine games as Jordan Love will develop chemistry and cohesion with his teammates as the season moves along. The offense will produce enough to get the job done behind an improved defensive unit that will finally live up to expectations.
