3 hypothetical trades have 2 Super Bowl contenders and a surprise team fight it out for Jets star DT Quinnen Williams

2025 has already been a season to forget for the New York Jets. They remain the only team in the league yet to win a game with a 0-7 record through seven weeks. As a result, many around the league expect them to be sellers ahead of the NFL trade deadline.

Multiple teams around the league are monitoring Jets star DT Quinnen Williams. Williams is one of, if not the team's, best overall players. It would be disappointing to see a player of his caliber leave New York. But the question is, what would the Jets even get in return if they do choose to trade him? Below are three hypothetical offers the Jets could receive. Stay until the end to see which one I personally would accept.

3 hypothetical trade offers for Jets DT Quinnen Williams

Chiefs look to form elite DT duo with Chris Jones and Quinnen Williams

Trade offer: 2026 second-round pick and CB Joshua Williams to the Jets for DT Quinnen Williams

Defensive tackle is by far and away the biggest need for the Chiefs. Kansas City's defensive line as a whole is not getting much pressure on opposing quarterbacks, and Derrick Nnadi is ranked dead last by Pro Football Focus among all qualified DTs. A player of Williams's caliber potentially being available is too good an opportunity for K.C. to pass up. Pairing him with All-Pro Chris Jones would complete an otherwise good Chiefs defense. It is rumored that a second-round pick would be enough to acquire Williams, but I sweetened the pot by adding Joshua Williams as well. Perhaps that will pull on the heartstrings of Jets coach Aaron Glenn, who is a former NFL cornerback. With how deep the Chiefs are at the CB position, Joshua Williams is expendable. - Nick Roesch, Kansas City Chiefs A to Z Sports

Packers want to follow up their blockbuster trade for Micah Parsons by landing Quinnen Williams

Trade offer: 2026 second-round pick and WR Dontayvion Wicks to the Jets for DT Quinnen Williams

The Packers have to be careful with new big moves because they've spent a lot of draft capital to acquire Micah Parsons and Darian Kinnard right before the season. But Quinnen Williams is the type of transformative talent worth the risk. Green Bay doesn't have its first-rounder in 2026 or 2027, so the offer would have to be constructed around that limitation. At this point of the season, though, not many teams have the financial flexibility to absorb Williams' contract. The Packers can make it happen with some contract restructures.

The Packers probably wouldn't want to trade Dontayvion Wicks in an ideal world, but they have a plethora of talented wide receivers to a point where Wicks isn't that impactful. He didn't have many yards even while Christian Watson and Jayden Reed were out, so it's unrealistic to expect much improvement whenever both starters are back. In a deal like this, if the Jets ask for Wicks, you have to take it. He's a great separator and has improved in regard to drops, so there's real value for the Jets in adding a receiver who's already under contract for 2026.

Green Bay is glad with Devonte Wyatt's improvement this year, but getting a player like Williams on the defensive line would create a monster defensive front — certainly the most talented one in the entire NFL. - Wendell Ferreira, Green Bay Packers A to Z Sports

Vikings take a win-now swing to add Quinnen Williams despite their roller coaster start to the season

Trade offer: 2026 second-round pick and DT Javon Hargrave to the Jets for DT Quinnen Williams

One of the most significant issues for the Vikings' defense has been a lack of interior pressure. They spent the offseason working to fix just that by signing Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave. In trying to fix the pass rush, they were okay taking a step back in run defense, hence the Harrison Phillips trade to the Jets during training camp. They would love to get a high-impact interior player who can both stop the run and apply pressure on the quarterback, and Williams fits the bill. There would be some cap math they would have to figure out, but sending back a player like Hargrave would allow the Jets to keep some of the pass rush juice, and he's fallen out of favor in Minnesota with Jalen Redmond and Levi Drake Rodriguez outsnapping him this past Sunday. High-impact defensive tackles are tough to come by, and general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah isn't afraid of making a splash. - Tyler Forness, Minnesota Vikings A to Z Sports

The Jets send Quinnen Williams out of the AFC to compete for a Super Bowl and land an intriguing WR for their future

First and foremost, I think the Packers and Vikings have a leg up on the Chiefs because their offers allow the Jets to send Williams to the NFC. So, with both teams offering a 2026 second-round pick and a player, I felt like it made the most sense to go with the more intriguing player. The Packers give the Jets the second they reportedly would need to move Williams along with Wicks, who had solid upside at WR long term.

Wicks would give the Jets an excellent route runner to pair with Garrett Wilson for the future. Wicks is still only 24 years old and is overshadowed in Green Bay due to the number of weapons they have. He would get a significantly larger workload in New York and is under contract next year to allow the team a full season in 2026 to evaluate his long-term fit.
