My favorite part of the dead zone in the Detroit Lions offseason is that you get to think about stuff like this because there isn't much going on. On Sunday, I got this question, and it really made me think.
@AtoZ_Payton any chance Ragnow returns to camp to just help out Hank coach up Ratledge?

My answer to this question, by the way, is probably not. I don't know where Ragnow's head is at right now, but I would bet it's on a lake somewhere.
If I had to guess, I would say that Ragnow is not someone who finds his way into the coaching ranks. But I want to predict who on this current roster could be. I actually nailed my prediction last year when I suggested David Blough. A week later, he retired and took a coaching position with the Commanders.
I don't think these guys are retiring next week, but I do think they could someday be head coaches.
This one shouldn't come as too much of a shock because he's actually told us this already. In his introductory presser after signing with the Lions, he said he looks to coach when his playing career is done, and that was a big reason he signed with the Lions. He wants to learn from Dan Campbell.
That's going to be a while from now, but the likelihood is he starts off as a defensive line coach and works his way up.
This guy just has football lifer written all over him. Some guys retire and move on; you'd never know they played unless they told you. O'Connor seems like a Dan Campbell-type guy who could immediately transition into a coaching career after he's done playing.
Maybe he could learn under the tutelage of Lions defensive line coach Kacy Rodgers. He's spent a lot of his career with him in both Detroit and Tampa Bay.
I'm going out on a limb with this one because he's never really stated any interest in coaching, but he's always been a guy who wants to help the players next to him get better. When the Lions signed him, one of the first things he said he was eager to do was help Brodric Martin learn and get better.
Guys like that usually turn out to be good coaches.
