3 most must-watch games on Chicago Bears 2025 schedule

When Week 1 rolls around, all the offseason buzz surrounding the Chicago Bears will either become a decibel-shattering scream, or become the faintest of whispers. It’s one thing to walk the walk, it’s another to talk to the talk.

But the Bears have done plenty of walking throughout the offseason, to stick with the metaphor. Hiring Ben Johnson as their head coach gave the team a much more optimistic vision. Then, the franchise made numerous additions on both offense and defense, stacking Johnson’s roster with playmakers.

For all the hype, Bears fans will remain cautious. They have heard this song and dance before and gotten their hopes up. This is still a Chicago team coming off a 5-12 campaign. Johnson and company must prove that their turnaround is legit this time.

That being said, it’s undeniable that the Bears are a much more exciting team on paper entering the 2025 campaign. Because of that, there are a number of matchups on the 2025 schedule already being circled in red pen. But if you only watch three Bears games this season, make sure it’s these three.

Week 6 @ Washington Commanders

Fans won’t soon forget the Hail Mary disaster against the Washington Commanders. With the Bears under 15-12 as time expired, all the Commanders could do was pray on a Jayden Daniels Hail Mary. However, they were answered, as Noah Brown came down with the 52-yard bomb and stole the win away from Chicago.

During the play, cornerback Tyrique Stevenson was seen taunting the crowd, rather than covering his receiver. It only added to the embarrassment and cast a dark cloud over the Bears. The loss trigged a 10-game losing streak for Chicago.

With a rebuilt franchise, the Bears certainly want their revenge. They’ll get their opportunity with the whole world watching, as the Week 6 contest will be broadcast on Monday Night Football.

Week 14 @ Green Bay Packers

Any matchup against the Green Bay Packers is immediately a must-watch game for Bears fans. However, Chicago’s return trip to Lambeau Field poses an intriguing storyline headline in 2025.

The Bears snapped their 10 game losing streak in Week 17 against the Packers with a 24-22 victory. Williams completed 21-of-29 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown. While Green Bay was resting most of their starters due to already clinching a playoff spot, Williams is still undefeated at Lambeau Field.

This late in the season, the Bears are hoping this is a competitive game with major implications. If Williams can stay undefeated in Green Bay, it’d be a strong start to his Chicago legacy.

Week 18 vs. Detroit Lions

Including this game on the list comes with one major caveat. The Bears must be fighting for a playoff spot. Chicago fans won’t complain if they’ve already locked up a postseason berth. But if the team is out of contention, this becomes a moot point.

The Lions and Bears face off much earlier in the season, in Week 2. That game gives Johnson an opportunity to face off against his former team. Furthermore, it’ll be a true litmus test to see how much Chicago has improved.

But come Week 18, playoffs could be on the line. Maybe even the NFC North crown. If the Bears and Lions are as competitive as expected to be, Week 18 could be a fiery matchup with major implications. Adding in the fact it’s Johnson facing his former team, and that becomes arguably the most must-watch game of the season.
