3 NFL Teams That Could Trade For QB Jalen Hurts

There is reportedly "friction" brewing between Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason.

Hurts, who two seasons ago led the Eagles to a Super Bowl win, had an up-and-down 2025 season. ESPN dropped a bombshell report this week, detailing the struggles between Hurts and the rest of the team.

It doesn't sound good.

"He has pushed back on changes that would diversify the scheme, sources said, including when it comes to him going under center more. He has shown a reluctance to let it rip at times, particularly against zone coverage. He diverts from the game plan and changes playcalls to what some feel is an excessive degree," ESPN reported.

"His strong preferences, coupled with the coaches' efforts to play to his strengths, which include his deep-ball accuracy and throws to the perimeter, limit the breadth to which the offense can expand -- or at least that's the way it has gone in the past."

Is a trade possible at some point?

We've seen similar situations develop in the past, when Russell Wilson left the Seattle Seahawks after leading the franchise to a Super Bowl early in his career.

Cleveland Browns

The Browns still don't have a quarterback of the future. If they decide to keep Myles Garrett and attempt to contend under new head coach Todd Monken, Hurts could be one of the best quarterbacks theoretically available for a trade.

Cleveland hasn't invested much on the offensive side of the football, but Hurts could be a guy to build around.

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons have been searching for a longterm answer at the quarterback position ever since Matt Ryan left.

Hurts could bring stability and veteran leadership to the position, which is very much needed in Atlanta.

The Falcons have considered some other options in the past, but Hurts, who started in the SEC, could be a nice fit in Atlanta.

Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins have moved on from Tua Tagovailoa. Miami will likely attempt to find a quarterback at the top of the NFL Draft in the next few years.

However, Hurts, who played at Alabama and then Oklahoma, could be an ideal fit to ultimately replace the guy who replaced him in college.

Miami is armed with a new head coach and new front office. The Dolphins will be interesting to watch.
