The San Francisco 49ers are just hours away from kickoff against the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium and have announced their pregame roster moves. Teams playing on Monday night have until the afternoon of the game to finalize transactions, unlike Sunday contests, when moves must be made on Saturday.

The 49ers announced the following roster updates:

  • Defensive end Yetur Gross-Matos has been activated from injured reserve.
  • Cornerback Eli Apple has been elevated from the practice squad.
  • Linebacker Eric Kendricks has been elevated from the practice squad.

Gross-Matos had been listed as questionable for the game as he worked his way back from a hamstring injury. The 49ers were happy with his recent on-field work.

"Yeah, he had a good two days that we got him out there, rested him today," Shanahan said on Saturday.

This is Apple's third elevation of the season.

Kendricks dealt with a tight calf leading up to the game against the Tennessee Titans, but was able to practice in the lead-up to this Week 16 matchup. When asked how Kendrick's conditioning was coming along in practice, Shanahan said, "Good. I mean, we wanted to see it this week, having last week with his injury. But challenging him this week, I thought it looked good and no concerns."

On Saturday, San Francisco officially ruled out three players for the matchup: cornerback Renardo Green (neck), wide receiver Ricky Pearsall (knee/ankle), and quarterback Kurtis Rourke (knee).

The 49ers will release their complete list of inactive players approximately 90 minutes before kickoff.
