Back in 2017, the San Francisco 49ers netted one of the steals of the NFL Draft by betting on the athleticism and untapped potential of a tight end from the University of Iowa.
Seven years on, they could be about to acquire George Kittle's successor from exactly the same place.
The 49ers, per Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network, are set to host a top-30 visit with Hawkeye tight end Erick All.
Iowa TE Erick All has 30s scheduled with the Washington Commanders and San Francisco 49ers, source said.

Versatile Y/F has already visited with the Dolphins, Browns and Vikings. Ton of buzz for an athlete trending up boards league-wide.
A transfer from Michigan, All did not have a great deal of production during his one season in a maddeningly stagnant Iowa offense.
He had 21 catches across seven games for 299 yards and three touchdowns during his brief time with Iowa, which was cut short by a torn ACL.
Having also seen injury end his final year with Michigan prematurely, durability is a question-mark for All.
However, his 86th percentile broad jump reflected the explosiveness that is present on tape for a field-stretching target who averaged 14.2 yards per reception for the Hawkeyes.
The 49ers are crying out for better depth at the tight end position and have made little secret of their desire to add options behind Kittle this offseason despite drafting both Cameron Latu (third round) and Brayden Willis (seventh round) last year.
Having unearthed an All-Pro from Iowa in their first draft at the helm, nobody would blame head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch for returning to the same program to select a prospect with upside to suggest he is a candidate to be Kittle's heir apparent.
