Mike Evans caught 27 passes for 420 yards and three touchdowns in the San Francisco 49ers’ first six games this season. Now the veteran’s Achilles has the team facing a tough decision to make before the NFL trade deadline.
Evans will not play Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders after the 49ers’ bye week, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo on “NFL GameDay Morning.” Garafolo said Evans is dealing with tendinitis in his Achilles, an issue that surfaced before the bye week and one that could keep him out for an extended period of time.
Garafolo called Evans questionable at best for the 49ers’ Week 10 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Since being sidelined, Evans has missed all three practices during the week while recovering from rib and Achilles injuries. He was ruled out for the Raiders game along with Deebo Samuel and Christian Kirk.
Evans first aggravated the injury during San Francisco’s 23-17 win over the Washington Commanders on Oct. 19 and left that game in the second quarter. He then sat out the team’s 29-20 loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Oct. 25, which ended the 49ers’ undefeated start.
The setback arrives days before the NFL trade deadline set for November 10 at 4 p.m. ET. Coach Kyle Shanahan has said that the 49ers will be exploring wide receiver trade options, though he has noted that receivers are the most difficult position to fill by trade due to newcomers having to learn the offense on the fly.
With the 49ers leading the NFC West and having already had their bye week, the pressure is on the team to make difficult decisions with very little margin for error.
