San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters after Monday's practice—the team's first of the week as it prepares for Saturday's preseason opener against the Denver Broncos.

Shanahan offered several key injury updates, including news that second-year running back Isaac Guerendo is dealing with a shoulder injury and is expected to be sidelined for "a few weeks."

Fullback Kyle Juszczyk, who left Saturday's practice early, had his Achilles stepped on, resulting in a cut. Shanahan described him as "day-to-day."

Defensive tackle Kevin Givens is sidelined with a pectoral injury and is expected to be "out for a while." Shanahan does not expect him back until "sometime during the season."

Defensive end Sam Okuayinonu is dealing with a groin injury and expected to miss "a couple of weeks, most likely."

Defensive tackle Evan Anderson suffered a knee bruise.

"Those can get better in a day—sometimes they take a week," Shanahan explained. "So we just gotta see how that goes."

Safety Ji'Ayir Brown is managing an ankle injury, the same one he had offseason surgery on, but could return to practice later this week.

"Just flared it up a little, and we're just being smart with him right now," Shanahan said.

Shanahan was also asked about wide receiver Jauan Jennings' calf injury, which coincides with Jennings seeking a new contract in the final year of his two-year deal signed in 2024. The coach was asked if the two might be linked.

"You can ask him that, but he tells me it's his calf, and the calf shows, so you've gotta be delicate with those calves," Shanahan responded.
