According to the NFL transaction report, the San Francisco 49ers signed defensive end Viliami Fehoko, one of three edge rushers who worked out for the team over the weekend.

To make room on the roster, the 49ers released tight end Josiah Deguara.

Additionally, defensive lineman Xavier Thomas, who was recently waived/injured, went unclaimed and has landed on the 49ers' injured reserve list.

San Francisco also worked out two free-agent linebackers, Antonio Grier and Devin Harper.

The Dallas Cowboys selected Fehoko (6-foot-4, 267 pounds) out of San Jose State in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. He spent his rookie season with the Cowboys before spending time with the Washington Commanders and Indianapolis Colts.

Fehoko spent the 2025 season on the Colts' practice squad. Indianapolis waived him on April 30.

Fehoko played college football at San Jose State, where he earned Mountain West Defensive Player of the Year honors in 2022.
