San Francisco 49ers defensive end Keion White appears to be making encouraging progress in his recovery after undergoing ankle surgery following a gunshot injury earlier this year. White shared a workout video on social media, showcasing his mobility as he continues preparing for the 2026 NFL season.

The 49ers acquired White last season in a trade with the New England Patriots, hoping he could help bolster a pass rush that struggled to pressure opposing quarterbacks consistently.
White's injury occurred in February during an incident outside a San Francisco nightclub. A police spokesperson later said the shooting stemmed from an altercation involving rapper Lil Baby but added that White was not believed to have been directly involved in the dispute.
After joining the 49ers last season, White appeared in nine games, including two starts, recording 12 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
In May, White offered an optimistic but cautious update on his recovery.
"I feel pretty good," White told R.org. "I'm just taking everything one day at a time and seeing where we are. You can't really focus on where you're going to be. You have to focus on where you are."
The 49ers are expected to rely on White as part of their defensive line rotation in 2026. His continued progress is an encouraging sign as the team prepares for training camp.
