49ers place DT Sam Okuayinonu (foot) on IR

San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Sam Okuayinonu will sit out more than just the team's season opener against the Los Angeles Rams on Thursday in Australia.

He will miss at least three more games with a foot injury, as well, after the team placed him on injured reserve on Saturday.

Okuayinonu, 28, recorded 39 tackles and three sacks in 15 games (12 starts) last season.

He has 85 tackles and 6.5 sacks in 37 career games (15 starts) with the Tennessee Titans and 49ers.
