49ers-Rams Injury Report: Daniel Brunskill returns; Arik Armstead still sidelined
Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 4 contest against the Los Angeles Rams on Monday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California.

Offensive lineman Daniel Brunskill is getting closer to returning to the football field. He returned to practice for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury in the 49ers' first preseason game. That's good news for a unit that lost its best player, left tackle Trent Williams, for at least a month to a high-ankle sprain.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan didn't have an update on Williams' injury. The 49ers don't believe he will require surgery, and the team hopes to avoid placing the offensive lineman on injured reserve.

Also expected to miss some time is linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair, who suffered an MCL sprain against the Denver Broncos this past weekend.

Defensive end Arik Armstead, who is dealing with plantar fasciitis in his right foot, continues to sit out practices. He was among the 49ers' inactive players against the Broncos.

Armstead worked with trainers on a side field during Thursday's practice.

Rookie wide receiver Danny Gray didn't practice due to a hip injury. Defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw also sat out practice due to his knee.

Below are Thursday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Rams, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
