San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after a dominant Week 7 showing against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night.

McCaffrey powered the 49ers' offense with 24 carries for a season-high 129 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while also catching seven passes for 72 yards. His 201 total yards from scrimmage marked his fourth career 200-yard game and his first since 2019.

The All-Pro back also recorded his 47th career game with at least 50 receiving yards, tying Ronnie Harmon for the third-most such games by a running back in the Super Bowl era. Only Larry Centers (55) and Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk (50) have more.

Through seven games, McCaffrey has totaled 981 scrimmage yards, putting him on pace to surpass 2,300 yards this season as he continues to fuel San Francisco's offensive attack.

This marks McCaffrey's third career Offensive Player of the Week award, tying Garrison Hearst (three) for the third-most by a 49ers running back. He trails only Frank Gore (five) and Roger Craig (four) in franchise history.

McCaffrey's Player of the Week honors:

  • 2022: Week 8
  • 2023: Week 4
  • 2025: Week 7

McCaffrey also joins Andrew Luck (five-time winner) as one of only two Stanford alumni to earn NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors since 2000.
