The injury bug keeps biting the San Francisco 49ers, and this time it has victimized defensive end Nick Bosa.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported on Friday that Bosa is down with a lower-body injury and could be out for weeks.
“49ers Pro Bowl DE Nick Bosa suffered a calf injury in practice this week and is expected to miss a few weeks,” Rapoport posted on X.
Rapoport added that the 49ers are still deciding on whether to put the star defensive end on the injured reserve.
What’s certain for now is that the former Ohio State Buckeyes star will not play against the Arizona Cardinals this coming Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
The five-time Pro Bowler is dealing with another injury that could potentially keep him out of the field for several games for the second season in a row.
In 2025, he only appeared in three games, as he tore his ACL and landed on the injured reserve. He finally returned to action in San Francisco’s Week 1 win in Australia over the Los Angeles Rams and played in Week 2’s victory against the Miami Dolphins.
Bosa has zero sacks and only seven total tackles through two weeks, but San Francisco is 2-0 despite the former All-Pro pass rusher’s subpar play.
Other 49ers defensive linemen who have gone down with injuries this season include Alfred Collins, Sam Okuayinonu, James Thompson Jr. and Romello Height.
