The San Francisco 49ers have reportedly received inquiries from other teams regarding a potential trade for star linebacker Fred Warner.
According to Easton Butler of Packers Report, multiple teams have reached out to gauge Warner's availability, with the New York Giants among those that have reportedly made contact.

It remains unclear how seriously the 49ers would entertain moving Warner. A trade appears unlikely, as the All-Pro linebacker remains a cornerstone of San Francisco's defense and continues to perform at an elite level.
However, the idea has surfaced before. Last week, Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com reported hearing that the 49ers might at least consider the possibility under specific circumstances.
"I don't know if San Francisco will trade Warner," Stapleton wrote. "Heard they might consider it if somehow they could get Dre Greenlaw back in the fold."
Warner is coming off an injury-shortened 2025 season but is expected to be fully healthy for the team's offseason program. He suffered a dislocated and fractured right ankle on October 12, 2025, and likely would have returned for the NFC Championship Game had San Francisco advanced that far.
Before the injury, Warner had been playing at a dominant level. In six games, he recorded 51 tackles, three passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery. At that pace, he was on track to surpass 140 tackles for the season.
