Quarterback Brock Purdy remains ruled out for the San Francisco 49ers' Week 7 matchup against the Atlanta Falcons, marking his fifth missed game this season due to a lingering toe injury. However, there's optimism surrounding his recovery ahead of Week 8 against the Houston Texans.
Bay Area News Group reporter Cam Inman spotted Purdy walking into the locker room after a pregame workout at Levi's Stadium and shared a positive update on social media:
"Chipper, upbeat, looks to be improving from [the] toe injury," Inman wrote.

In Purdy's absence, Mac Jones will make his fifth start of the season, aiming to lead the 49ers to their fifth win.
Purdy initially was expected to miss two to five weeks after injuring his toe in Week 1. He returned in Week 4 against the Jacksonville Jaguars but re-aggravated the injury, causing him to miss three more games.
The quarterback showed progress in practice last week. Head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed Friday that Purdy is on the right track:
"He was able to get out there, throw more," Shanahan said. "I thought it was definitely a step further ahead than it was last week, so going in the right direction."
