A recent report from The Athletic's Dianna Russini revealed that San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy participated in a pregame workout on Sunday ahead of the team's matchup against the Atlanta Falcons.
"I was told that he didn't really feel that great," Russini said.
For the second straight week, Purdy begins as a limited participant in practice. He was limited throughout last week before ultimately being ruled out against Atlanta. While his status for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans remains uncertain, it appears likely that Mac Jones could make his sixth start of the season.

Purdy continues to deal with a toe injury sustained in Week 1. He made a brief return in Week 4 but suffered a setback and has not played since.
Has Purdy been making the progress the team has hoped for?
"Yes, yeah," head coach Kyle Shanahan said on Wednesday. "It's different dealing with a toe, but I'd say it's subtly getting better each week."
Another key offensive piece still sidelined is wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, who also has not played since Week 4 after suffering a knee injury in the loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. While Pearsall has yet to return to practice, he has been seen working on the side.
Has Pearsall suffered a setback in his recovery?
"I don't think it's a setback," Shanahan said. "It's just not going as fast as we want it. But nothing new has happened."
With the statuses of both players unclear, San Francisco may have to continue to lean on its depth as the team looks to stay atop the NFC West and maintain momentum heading into the second half of the season.
