49ers signing CB Nate Hobbs to a one-year deal

According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the San Francisco 49ers are expected to sign former Las Vegas Raiders and Green Bay Packers cornerback Nate Hobbs to a one-year deal.

"The 26-year old was recently released by Green Bay and is now joining the Raheem Morris defense in San Francisco," Schultz wrote.

Schultz added , "Expect Nate Hobbs to be a key factor in Raheem Morris' secondary."

ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler confirmed the report, noting, "Was hurt for much of last year but was a big free agent in 2025, 26 years old."

Pro Football Focus commented, "One of the best run defending corners in football since entering the league."

The Raiders selected Hobbs (6-0, 195) out of Illinois in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He spent his first four seasons in Las Vegas before signing a four-year, $48 million contract with Green Bay in March 2025.

During the 2025 season, Hobbs appeared in 11 games and made five starts for the Packers. He recorded 27 tackles, two tackles for loss, and two passes defensed, according to Pro Football Reference.

Over five NFL seasons, Hobbs has appeared in 62 games with 43 starts, totaling 308 tackles, 21 passes defensed, three sacks, three interceptions, and three forced fumbles. He also added one fumble recovery and contributed 45 yards on two kick returns during the 2025 season.
